Burlington Rotary - Once Upon a 5K Fun Run/Walk
What: A 5K Fun Run/Walk fundraiser of the Burlington Rotary Club to support the club’s literacy promotion and other programs for area children. This event takes place through the historic Aspen Grove Cemetery, and takes the place of the club’s annual Barbecue Chicken Dinner, which we were forced to cancel due to COVID-19. The annual dinner was a major source of support for club initiatives. This is a non-timed event, taking place rain or shine, dress accordingly. Pets are not allowed. There are no refunds. National Family History Month
What: National Family History Month, which is observed annually during the month of October, has grown and evolved on a national stage since its 2001 origin in Congress. Heritage Center Memory Garden Bricks
What: Des Moines County Historical Society has a Brick Memory Garden at the Heritage Center Museum. Each donation of $150 per 4" X 8" India red granite brick will include a maximum of 2 lines of 15 characters each.
