Downtown Partners is gearing up for the 2016 season of the newly renamed Jefferson Street Farmers Market! Downtown Open 4 Business Competition
With Main Street Iowa and the Iowa Economic Development Authority, Downtown Partners presents the Open 4 Business competition for either a new or expanding for-profit business locating in the Main Street district. Each of the state's 52 Main Street organizations can submit one business concept. Three local applicants will pitch their business concepts to Downtown Partners, with the winner receiving a rental assistance grant if they open in downtown Burlington. In addition, they will go on to one of five regional competitions in June for a chance at $8,000. The five finalists will present their ideas in a statewide contest in August for an additional $20,000 in funding.
