Available to members of the Chamber of Commerce and DPI stakeholders, materials include - but are not limited to - social distancing signs, customer symptoms signs, cleaning and disinfecting guidelines, as well as many other informational items and guidelines. Iowa Workforce Development Report Job Refusals or Return to Work Refusals
What: Iowa Workforce Development has created a form for employers to report unemployed claimants in Iowa who have refused legitimate job offers or refused to return to work. Completing this form will result in further investigation of the reported issue by Iowa Workforce Development.

5 & V Begins Saturday, June 6 - Frozen II
What: Grab your lawn chairs and head to downtown Burlington. The 2020 5 & V summer line up is set and ready to go, even with social distancing! Join us on June 6 at the corner of 5th & Valley in downtown Burlington for Frozen II. The event is free to attend, although donations are accepted. Movies start at dusk with snacks and drinks available to purchase.

Jefferson St Farmers Market

Summer School         
What: BCSD is providing Summer School opportunities in June and July. 
Burlington High School will offer credit courses online beginning June 8; Aldo Leopold Intermediate School and Edward Stone Middle School starting June 15 with in-person activities on Thursdays; and elementary starting online June 15 with
in-person starting June 29.

Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month         
What: Each year in June, people across the world go purple to raise awareness and show support for the over 50 million individuals worldwide living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias for Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month. The Alzheimer’s Association Iowa Chapter is asking people to help spread awareness and inspire action to help fight Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.
When: GO PURPLE June 15 until The Longest Day® on June 20. • Wear purple 
• Light up purple - porch/yard lights, business lights • Place purple flowers in your windows/doors • Share your purple on social media and tag @alziowa and #ENDALZ to turn Facebook, Instagram and Twitter purple.

How Can I Help My Friend in a Violent Relationship?        
What: If you know someone who is experiencing relationship violence, you can express non-judgmental concern and assure them that the abuse is not their fault. Additionally, refer the individual to DVIP: we are an organization that has trained advocates who can offer a well-informed listening ear, assist with safety planning, and provide shelter and service referrals. Remember to keep your conversation(s) with the individual confidential.
