Iowa Workforce Development Report Job Refusals or Return to Work Refusals
What: Iowa Workforce Development has created a form for employers to report unemployed claimants in Iowa who have refused legitimate job offers or refused to return to work. Completing this form will result in further investigation of the reported issue by Iowa Workforce Development.

Summer Reading Programs Reduce Summer Learning Loss     
What: The Burlington Public Library's summer reading program for all ages began June 1 and continues through August 1. In addition to a full calendar of virtual programs and challenges, the summer program encourages reading with some great prizes thanks to local business sponsors. Research shows that students who don't read in the summer lose skills that need to be retaught in the fall and that the effects of summer learning loss can accumulate and cause long-term achievement gaps. June is National Dairy Month      
What: Celebrate by enjoying local cheese from Hinterland Dairy in Donnellson, Iowa. The Krogmeier's make fresh cheese curds, aged Alpine cheddar cheese and fresh spread quark with the milk from their cows right on their farm. Library Services and Hours Expanding   
What: The library is open for computer lab use, for Curbside Library, and for reference and help using the Digital Library by chat, phone, email, or social media. The Digital Library is always open for downloading ebooks, audiobooks, and magazines, doing research, using live one-on-one tutoring, streaming movies and music, and more. Curbside Library includes material pickup as well as copying, scanning, faxing, printing, and borrowing laptops. The computer lab is in the meeting room off of the lobby.
