The Bishop Grimes Online Auction recorded record numbers last week, raising nearly $20,000 with over 800 individual bids. Popular auction donations included a weeklong Florida vacation, Chic-Fil-A for a year, a BOSE speaker system, and much much more.
The decision was made earlier this year to host the virtual auction online again because of COVID. With several businesses unable to donate this year, the BG community including alumni, faculty/staff, and current and former parents stepped up in a big way, offering up donations and services to bid on. Some popular items being auctioned off included front row bleacher seats at graduation, mini-golf and lunch with Assistant Principal Pat Kinne, dinner with Coach McKenney, and more.
“This is a huge testament to the culture of giving we have in the BG community,” said Principal Headd. “I am beyond excited to return the auction to an in-person event next year, and look forward to welcoming back the BG community under one roof.”
Dates for next year's auction will be released in the fall of 2021.
