EDG (Entrepreneur Development Group) started the week off strong, helping business owners and entrepreneurs with business challenges and opportunities.
A full day on Wednesday with the monthly meeting with the Ambassadors, who are our much-valued volunteers dedicated to help our members and ended the day at Chevy's with about 50 members and guests for the September Member Mixer.
On Friday they celebrated All American Junk Removal and Demo with a Ribbon Cutting. They also welcomed five new members to the Chamber this week. Please join us in welcoming:
The newest Leadership Roseville class is officially underway! This week, the Class of 2027 and Steering Committee gathered for their initial mixer, giving participants a chance to meet, connect, and start building the relationships that will shape their experience throughout the program. With the kickoff retreat just around the corner, we’re excited to see this group come together and begin their Leadership Roseville journey!
We are one week away from SPLASH! and are officially SOLD OUT of tickets! We cannot wait to celebrate this incredible event and community partnership with you all on Saturday, September 12th at the Roseville Aquatics Complex!

You can also expect to receive reusable cups provided by the Western Placer Waste Management Authority this year at SPLASH! Make sure not to lose yours!
This event is not only a fun way to celebrate community, but also a great way to make a bigger impact. A portion of the proceeds raised going toward supporting Roseville’s Parks & Recreation Scholarship Program, helping provide access to recreation programs and activities for residents who may otherwise be unable to participate. We look forward to celebrating with you!
California Legislative Session: What Happens Next?
With Monday being the deadline, California Legislature has finished its work for the year, meaning lawmakers are done voting on bills for the 2026 session. Now, the Governor gets the final say. Bills that passed the Assembly and Senate will go to the Governor, who can sign them into law or veto them. Most bills that are signed will become law on January 1, 2027. The Chamber will continue tracking these decisions and keeping members informed about new laws that could affect their businesses. Here are some bills to be aware of that reached the Governor’s desk:
SB 1444 - Employment Law Updates (passed)
SB 1444 makes several updates to California employment laws, including modernizing Labor Commissioner wage-claim communications and clarifying penalties related to worker misclassification. The bill also makes administrative changes to CalPERS, workers’ compensation, and EDD programs and was signed into law on August 27, 2026.
AB 2044 - Building Standards Cost Transparency (passed)
AB 2044 requires state agencies to provide a completed estimate of the cost of complying with new building standards before the California Building Standards Commission can approve or adopt them. The goal is to give policymakers and the public a clearer picture of the costs associated with new building requirements. The Governor signed the bill into law on August 27, 2026.
