What a fantastic afternoon at Woodcreek Golf Club last Friday! I was proud to participate in and support the 29th Annual Mayor's Cup, where over 150 golfers gathered for a great cause supporting Roseville kids and families.
The competition was fierce, with our team posting a solid 64, and the overall gross score winner coming in at an impressive 60. On a personal note, I was thrilled to take home the Longest Drive title on the women's side, with Rob Cline claiming the honor for the men's — well deserved!
Beyond the competition, it was a beautiful day to connect with members and the broader Roseville community in support of a cause that truly matters. Congratulations to all the participants and organizers who made the 29th Mayor's Cup another memorable event!
| | | Your Membership Team supported 20+ business owners at the monthly EDG (Entrepreneur Development Group) led by Brian Gladden, CEO of Strategy & Innovation Institute, and Marcie Shelton, owner of The Leader's Partner. | | | On Wednesday they met with the Ambassadors for their monthly lunch meeting that was catered by Delish Pizza to share with them updates on member resources, workshops and events so they can better serve our members. Then it was off to the Happy Hour at Legends at Woodcreek Golf Course. It was a beautiful night connecting, collaborating and hearing from our featured non-profit, All Clutter Aside. | | | |
They celebrated Tutu School of Roseville with a Ribbon Cutting and welcomed six new members this week:
- Good Life Construction
- Ambassadore Health Care-Sacramento, Inc.
- Milou and Olin Photography

| | | On Wednesday, May 6th, we attended the State of the County Address given by Placer County District 2 Supervisor, Shanti Landon at Sun City in Lincoln Hills. Placer County achieved many wins in 2025 relating to economic development, improving our workforce initiatives through connecting veterans to civilian careers, and accomplishing major projects to keep our rivers clean. Congressman Kevin Kiley presented a $1,000,000 check to County of Placer to help improve transportation along Baseline and Riego Roads, going toward the installment of three traffic signals and stop sign removal at Natomas and Riego Rd. It was a wonderful event full of connection and celebrating 175 years of Placer County’s legacy! | | | |
SB 951 - California Worker Technological Displacement Act
California lawmakers have introduced Senate Bill 951 (SB 951), which would require employers with more than 100 employees to provide 90 days’ notice before workforce reductions tied to AI or automation. The bill would also require employers to notify state agencies when positions are permanently replaced by AI and provide affected employees priority consideration for other open roles. SB 951 highlights California’s increasing focus on the workplace impact of emerging technologies and could create new compliance requirements for employers across industries.

Important Compliance Update on SB 54 Packaging Law
The CMTA wants to make sure you are aware of an important and fast-approaching compliance deadline that likely applies to your manufacturing company.
By June 1, 2026, all manufacturing companies that qualify as “producers” with more than $1 million in annual revenue must register under California’s SB 54 packaging law.
Unless otherwise exempt under the law, all entities producing, selling, and/or placing single-use packaging (all material types) or plastic food service ware in California are likely required to register. Importantly, even entities who do not manufacturer or use consumer-facing packaging may have compliance obligations for business-to-business and transport packaging.
By the June 1 deadline, you must complete ONE of the following:
-
Register with the Circular Action Alliance (CAA) and submit required supply data
-
Register with CalRecycle as an independent producer
-
Register with CalRecycle and apply for a small producer exemption (if eligible).
This deadline is approaching quickly, and many companies may not be aware of the requirement. Failure to register could result in compliance and enforcement issues as the program moves forward.
