The Roseville Area Chamber of Commerce's Ignite Young Professionals held an offsite at Thunder Valley Casino Resort, where attendees received an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the operations behind one of the region's premier entertainment destinations.

Thunder Valley Casino General Manager Dawn Clayton gave a tour where participants gained insight into resort operations, economic impact, and hospitality offerings, and heard directly from Thunder Valley leadership about the many career paths that support the resort's success.

The event provided valuable networking and a rare look at a destination many know publicly but few have seen from the inside. The Chamber thanks Thunder Valley Casino Resort for hosting and all who attended for making the event a success.

SB 343: Environmental Advertising

On Tuesday, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California temporarily blocked California from enforcing SB 343, the state's "Truth in Recycling" law, while a legal challenge proceeds. The law, which was set to take effect on October 4th, would have imposed new standards for when products and packaging could be labeled as "recyclable."

The lawsuit, filed by Californians for Affordable Packaging (CAP) and other business groups, argues that portions of the law are unconstitutional and restrict protected commercial speech via the First Amendment. The court found the plaintiffs are likely to succeed on their claims and issued a preliminary injunction preventing enforcement until the case is resolved.

A final decision has yet to be made, as legal action will continue.

This moderated conversation will be led by Nikki Laurenzo from FOX40. This nonpartisan event will provide attendees firsthand insights into each candidate's positions and have the chance to make informed decisions ahead of Election Day.
