The Roseville Area Chamber of Commerce is putting a spotlight on local flavor with the launch of its first-ever Coffee Passport, a new initiative designed to celebrate and support the growing coffee scene across Placer County.

Featured on Studio40 Live, Chamber President & CEO Ananda Rochita shared how the program encourages residents and visitors to explore 13 unique coffee businesses throughout the region. The passport experience invites participants to discover new cafés, support small businesses, and engage more deeply with the local community.

The segment also offered a preview of participating locations, including Fourscore Coffee and Placer Roasting Company, where representatives highlighted their passion for craft coffee and community connection.

You can watch the segment HERE to learn more!

Be sure to pick up your copy of the Coffee Passport at the Chamber Office, Monday through Friday between 9:00am - 4:00pm, or at the upcoming Chamber Luncheon on April 14th.

SB 981 (Niello): Regulatory Impact Analysis—Cost of Living

SB 981 updates California’s regulatory review process by requiring the State Air Resources Board (CARB) to more explicitly evaluate how major regulations affect the cost of living for Californians. Under existing law, agencies must already prepare a standardized regulatory impact analysis that considers economic effects such as jobs, business competitiveness, and public health benefits.

This bill builds on those requirements by directing CARB to also assess specific, real-world cost pressures on residents and businesses—such as gasoline and transportation costs, electricity bills, housing and construction costs, and the price of consumer goods and food.

By expanding the scope of required analysis, SB 981 aims to provide policymakers and the public with a clearer picture of how major air quality and climate regulations may influence household affordability and overall cost of living in California.

SB 981 was heard in the first committee on March 18th and failed to pass, but was granted reconsideration, returning to its original position.

The City of Roseville has launched a helpful new online tool designed to answer a common question in our growing region—whether a property is actually located within Roseville city limits. With continued growth around the edges of the city, many homes and businesses have a Roseville mailing address but fall outside City jurisdiction, which can create confusion around services, utilities, and representation.

The “Know Your Boundaries” webpage allows users to enter an address and quickly see whether it’s within city boundaries. If it is, the tool also provides helpful details such as City Council district, service providers, and school district information.

This resource may be especially helpful for residents, business owners, and those considering relocating within the region.
