What is Wood Badge?
  • Leadership course for trained: Cub Scout Leaders, Scouts BSA Leaders, Venturing Advisors and Exploring Advisors.
  • Worldwide training tradition that reaches back to the days of the founding of Scouting. A Five day experience, over the course of one 3-day weekend and one-2-day weekend, in which you learn more about Scouting, leadership and yourself. It is only offered in Tuscarora Council every Two Years so act fast!
  • All trained adult Scout Leaders are encouraged to attend Wood Badge; space is limited. Wood Badge is the highest and most advanced training course offered by the Boy Scouts of America. While it is rich in Scouting History and tradition, participants will learn modern leadership theories from contemporary scholars such as Ken Blanchard, Steven R. Covey and John C. Maxwell. Many employers are familiar with the value of this leadership training course, and some will even cover a portion of the course fees. (Informational employer letters are available upon request.)
