THANK YOU!! Generous & Positive Responses to the Recent Break-In and Theft at Camp T
Not Even Thieves Can Break the Spirit of Scouting in the Tuscarora Council!
.
As we reported last week, there was a break-in at Camp Tuscarora a few weeks ago, and thieves made off with over $16,000.00 worth of equipment and caused damage to camp facilities.

While this crime was a low-blow that came at a most inopportune time, the generous outpouring of support and positive responses we have received from our Scouting families and volunteers upon hearing the news has been heartwarming and is appreciated more than you can ever know.

We would like to recognize and thank the following volunteers and organizations for their generous donations and assistance in replacing the much-needed items that were stolen below:

  • Clayton Civitan, on behalf of Troop 24, donated a new commercial Stihl backpack blower and a 2 1/2 gallon jug of weed killer. This was coordinated by Scott Carroll.
  • Matthew Drown and son Isaac of Troop 210 donated a new hammer drill and angle grinder.
  • Daniel Lockerby of Troop 8 donated several Dewalt battery-powered tools.
  • An anonymous donation of a Skag Extreme Blower came in this week as well.

A mere thank you can't begin to describe how grateful we are for your generous support and assistance in replacing these items for keeping camp operational for our youth and for helping to demonstrate to the youth we serve in Scouting that above all, a Scout is helpful and kind!

THANK YOU!!

If you, someone you know, or your unit would like to help with or sponsor the replacement of any of the stolen items, any and all assistance is most appreciated!

Much-Needed Upgrades Coming to Online Training Modules August 3rd
Coming In August : NEW! Streamlined Position - Specific Online Learning Plans for Scouts BSA Positions

A new online version of Scouts BSA position-specific training will be available on August 3, 2020.

Scouters that are currently in the process of completing any of these modules need to complete their work prior to this date as the Learning Plans for all Scouts BSA positions will be changing – Scoutmaster/Assistant Scoutmaster, Committee Chair, Committee Member and Merit Badge Counselor. (If the old modules aren't completed by August 3, Scouters will have to restart the training using the new learning plans and modules.)

GREAT NEWS : The new online learning combines content resulting in fewer modules . Courses have also been streamlined to help reduce the total time it takes to complete the training.

Be on the look out for these new stream-lined courses (and a few more) in the learning center on my.scouting.org beginning Monday, August 3, 2020!
