A Note from Headmaster Scott | |
|
Dear Archway Trivium Families,
The topic on everyone’s mind seems to be student pick-up, so I thought I would give you an update. We have been making adjustments every day to improve our system. Earlier this week we were congratulated by our School Resource Officer for how quickly we were able to settle our traffic difficulties. We, obviously, work to manage things, but credit for the behavior on the road is 100% yours. Thank you! We have also been steadily improving our times. If you showed up at 3:40 today, you would have found an empty parking lot. We still had a few stragglers, but things have very much slowed down by 3:20 PM. We are not quite where we want to be, but our goal of finishing within 30 minutes is well within reach.
Here are a few more things we can do to make drop-off and pick-up run more smoothly.
- For drop off: please be a good citizen and drop off in the appropriate places. We have folks stopping on Bullard and parking in the dialysis center across the street. Neither of these reflect well on the school, so please model good citizenship and come through the line with everyone else.
- Carpool! I am working on incentives for carpools, but I’m not sure what that will look like. If everyone carpools with one other family, we will have half the number of cars to process.
- Stagger arrival times. Many of you are doing this already, which has been extremely helpful. With our total time decreasing, it would be good for all those not arriving in the initial wave of cars to move your arrival time up about 5 minutes.
Thank you all for all your great work in making this a safe and efficient drop-off and pick-up system. This is the one thing we all truly work on together, and it takes parents, students, and teachers all doing their part to be successful. I truly appreciate your partnership.
Heartily Devoted,
Clay Scott

Thank you for your cooperation and patience during student drop-off and pick-up. We are already seeing improvements in time and efficiency and expect this will only continue to improve. Here are things parents can do to help minimize delays.
-
Make sure your child knows his/her first and last name (as it is listed on the pick up card) and remind them to LISTEN for their name to be called when lining up to walk outside for pick up.
-
Have your child practice buckling/unbuckling his/her seatbelt. Archway staff are not allowed to assist in this process.
