FRIDAY FLASH

August 19, 2022

A Note from Headmaster Scott

Dear Archway Trivium Families,

Our thematic goal for this year is to Choose Joy Together. Each of these words have been carefully selected. To make a choice is to exercise free will. We can choose joy by assuming good will in others, by taking a position of power rather than playing the victim, and by generally focusing on the good. We also choose joy as we actively pursue growth in ways that will expand our capacity for joy. This is what makes a classical education so valuable. It more than the education of the mind; it is also the education of the heart, and therefore the education of the whole soul. This thematic goal has a number of measures, but I would like to invite you to join our faculty, staff, and students in choosing joy together this year.

On a practical note, our Community Investment and Public School Tax Credit campaigns make this education of the soul possible. I want to sincerely thank the families who have chosen to partner with us by making a gift to Community Investment and Tax Credit already this year.

If you have not yet given, please consider partnering with us this year through a monthly gift to Community Investment and by re-directing a portion of your tax dollars to Archway Trivium through the AZ Public School Tax Credit. Your generosity leaves a lasting impact on our students.

Help support the education you have chosen for your child by visiting www.archwaytrivium.org/support or by contacting our Family Giving and Community Engagement Officer (FGO), Annann Hong, (see below) at ahong@archwaytrivium.org or call (773) 307-6779.

Heartily Devoted,

Clay Scott

Family Giving | Dr. Annann Hong

Welcome to a new year!!!

For those of you that have just attended Curriculum Night this past week or are about to do so next week, we hope that your child’s teachers will have inspired you, not only in presenting an overview of their delivery of the Great Hearts curriculum in the classroom, but also for their passion and commitment. Now more than ever, with the expansion of our campus, Archway Trivium needs OUR support through Community Investment. Like furnishing a new home, ALL of us need to invest back into our school in order to provide Dr. Scott more financial resources to thoroughly tackle such items as the classroom library wish lists and new playground equipment, in addition to being able to address other persistent needs such as the building mortgage, the monthly utilities, and adequate compensation for our teachers for the incredible work they do in their classrooms. Thank you so much to the families who have already sign up this year to support our school through a monthly or one-time gift of Community Investment. If your family is not yet on this donor list, please use this link to set up your tax-deductible giving. GIFTS OF ALL SIZES MAKE A DIFFERENCE! Do not let a worry that you cannot give more be the reason you do not give at all. If you have any questions at all, please contact Annann Hong at ahong@archwaytrivium.org or call/text (773) 307-6779. We are so grateful for our Trivium family!!!

Join us for our 3rd-5th Grade Parent-only Curriculum Night

Please join us for our 3-5 Parent-only Curriculum Nights on Tuesday, August 23. Parents will gather at the start of each session (5pm and 6pm) to hear a few words from Dr. Scott before being dismissed to meet with teachers in their child's classroom.

Specials teachers will be available from 5:30-6:30 pm for any parents who wish to speak with them in Room 216.

There are two identical sessions offered each night. We hope you can join us for this event!
