FRIDAY FLASH

August 4, 2023

A Message from Headmaster Scott

Dear Archway Trivium Families,

I want to just thank our entire community for making these first two days of school splendid. The splendor had to have begun at home. Our drop-off routine, which usually takes about two weeks to bring up to speed resulted in our finishing within 5 minutes of our normal mid-year cut-off time on both days. As fellow drivers made the inevitable mistakes of a first day, I witnessed multiple instances of patience, grace, and forgiveness. As I made my rounds through the classrooms, scholars were prepared and eager to learn. Even our kindergarten scholars took to the work of being at school beautifully. (To interject a favorite moment, it seems that 1:15 PM was as late as one kindergartener could got, as evidenced by her profound slumber in Spanish class.) There will certainly be challenges and difficulties during this school year. When they come, we will handle them. My hope is that as we do, we can maintain the unity that we experienced during these two days. Thank you, again, and I look forward to our first full week together, starting on Monday!

Heartily Devoted,

Clay Scott, Ed.D.

Headmaster, Archway Trivium

Traffic Flow for Student Drop-off/Pick-up

Please carefully review the Archway Traffic Flow for Student Drop-off and Pick-up and reach out to the front office with any questions. Taking the time to understand these procedures will help to ensure the safety of our students/staff and a smooth traffic flow.

General Reminders:

  • Morning Drop-off is from 7:20-7:47 AM. Parents who wish to drop-off earlier must enroll in Early Drop-off Club.
  • Parents in the drop-off/pick-up zone must remain in their vehicle. Faculty will assist students exiting their vehicles, however, faculty are not allowed to assist students with car seats, so parents are highly encouraged to practice prior to the start of the year so that students are able to do that independently.
  • Please have your GREEN or ORANGE pick-up card clearly displayed on your dashboard during pick-up to help keep our process running smoothly. Pick-up cards will be handed out at Meet the Teacher in your oldest Archway child's classroom.
  • Due to limited parking, there will be NO walk-up option for student drop-off/pick-up at this time.
  • Parents with both Archway and Prep students, please review the pick-up procedure with your Trivium Prep students before the first day of school emphasizing the importance of arriving to the Archway Pick-up/Drop-off Zone promptly after school to be ready to load into your vehicle.
  • Parents picking up Archway and Middle School Students, DO NOT arrive to campus before 3:15 PM. You may not wait for your middle school student in the Archway Pick-up Line if arriving before this time.

New Lunch Delivery Policy

Effective this year, the front office will no longer accept food deliveries for students from restaurants/third-party vendors (ex. Jimmy John's, Door Dash, etc.).

Students should bring a lunch from home or order ahead from our PSO-sponsored lunch program My Hot Lunchbox. If a student forgets lunch, a parent may bring it to the lunch cart in the front office before 10am and the student will be notified. For lunches arriving after 10am, it is the student's responsibility to collect it from the office during their lunch period or after-school. Class time will not be interrupted for lunch delivery.

Communication Updates

Latest News image.png

School Messenger Communication

Great Hearts and Archway Trivium continue to utilize the system School Messenger for emails, robo-calls, and text messaging to inform families of campus related academy emergencies and other communications. SchoolMessenger has a new automatic opt-in for text feature. During the registration/re-enrollment process families confirmed their wish to participate in text communications. Great Hearts will now automatically opt in contact information given during the registration/re-enrollment process with the options you selected. You will notice at the beginning of July you will be opted in for text messaging. If you would like to opt out of text messages simply reply STOP to the text from 67585. You can also enter the code 67585 with the message STOP to block any text messaging. Please note, if opting out, you will not receive texts regarding emergencies on campus.

Email Communications

If you know of parents who are not receiving these communications, please ask them to check their junk/promotions email folders, and then email bmcdonald@archwaytrivium.org for assistance.

You can also find ALL school-wide communications on our website on the Latest News page.
