A Message from the Headmaster

Dear Archway Trivium Families,

It is such a joy to be back together with you! I have the pleasure of driving along the Palm Valley golf course each morning on my way to school. There is something very distinct about a golf course in Arizona, and it has to do with the rough. The beautiful fairways and neatly manicured greens look inviting every day, even though I am not a golfer. The level of cultivation that goes into these living works of art is tremendous. Yet, today, my eye was drawn to the rough, the uncultivated part of a golf course. In places of greater moisture, the rough often includes long grass, trees, and other sundry foliage. In a desert golf course, there is nothing. There is no life at all. It is here that I though of our mission, “to cultivate the hearts and minds of students through the pursuit of Truth, Goodness, and Beauty.” Cultivating a heart and mind brings life to a human being in the same way a horticulturist can bring the desert to life. Thank you for trusting us with your most precious works of art, for allowing us to join with you in the honorable work of soul formation!

Heartily devoted,

Clay Scott, Ed.D.

Headmaster

K-5 Curriculum Night for Parents - Tuesday, August 12

Please join us for our K-5 Parent-only Curriculum Night on Tuesday, August 12. Parents will meet with teachers in the classrooms to learn more about the grade-level curriculum. Children should not attend.

This year, we are incorporating our Spalding Phonics/Singapore Math information session into Curriculum Night. Join us from 5:10-6:00pm for an overview of our phonics and math curricula. Parents will learn about the curriculum, walk through examples and have the opportunity to ask questions.

There are two identical curricular sessions offered for parents with students in different grade levels. We hope you can join us for this event!

Tuesday, August 12 (Two Identical Curricular Sessions):

Curricular Session 1: 4:30-5 PM

Family Giving Welcome

Welcome to the 25-26 school year! We hope you had a fun and restful summer. A Family Giving Officer is an on-campus resource to support parent philanthropy through annual campaigns. My name is Aydin Martin, and I have the privilege of serving as the Family Giving and Community Engagement Officer for our school community. Let’s all support Tax Credit and Community Investment.

I want to thank all our families in advance for partnering with me throughout the school year to support our great academy. Please feel free to contact me at (480) 528-7013 should you need any assistance starting your school year. This year any family who gives their tax credit by 8/31/2025 will have one scholar’s field trip fees waived for the year. Please visit our website to support our school through community investment and tax credit.

Traffic Flow Updates

Thank you for helping to make our first week of school a success! We appreciate your patience and kindness during student drop off and pick up, as we know it is an adjustment at the start of the school year.

Here are a few reminders that will help our traffic flow run smoothly:

  • You must have your PHYSICAL ORANGE or GREEN pick-up card clearly visible during pick-up. We do not accept a photo of your card on a phone. If you forget your pickup card, you must go to the front office.

  • Please keep pulling forward to eliminate gaps in the traffic flow. This helps relieve traffic back-ups on Encanto Blvd.

  • Parents in the drop-off/pick-up zone must remain in their vehicle.

  • Follow the directions of staff on duty.

  • Parents picking up both Archway and Prep students use the Archway driveline. Prep students do not use pickup cards and should be ready and watching along the sidewalk north of the gym to get into your car. Remind your Prep students to arrive promptly to the pickup area after school. If they are not present when you reach the sidewalk, you will be asked to loop around and re-enter the driveline to keep traffic moving. As Prep dismisses after Archway, do not arrive to the driveline before your Prep student's pickup time.

  • Archway students may not be dropped off/picked up in the Trivium Prep (6th-12 grade) traffic flow. Please use the Archway traffic flow to drop-off and pickup your Archway & Prep students.

The Archway Trivium PSO invites parent volunteers to help in the Archway Trivium Lunchroom! Parent volunteers can assist in serving the food, helping the younger children in the lunchroom, ensuring the lunch room remains clean and lunch period runs smoothly. You can sign up to volunteer once a month, once a week, or every day. It’s a very important volunteer role that also makes for a fun view into your scholar’s life at school!

All volunteers MUST be verified through the Great Heart volunteer application (Raptor) and have completed the Archway Trivium Volunteer Training prior to serving. The Raptor clearance must be renewed each year on/after July 1.

Ways to Participate:

The credits will be tallied monthly and credited to your account within the first 2 weeks of the following month. Please email psolunch@archwaytrivium.org if you have any questions regarding the credits. Children are not permitted to help with this volunteer position.

Volunteer as a Lunchroom Helper

This role was created to assist our 1st-5th grade classes and help keep the lunchroom clean and running smoothly. Please plan to be there from 10:45am-1:00pm. Younger siblings are welcome to serve alongside parents as a “Lunchroom Buddy.”

Communication Updates

Latest News image.png

School Messenger Communication

Great Hearts and Archway Trivium continue to utilize the system School Messenger for emails, robo-calls, and text messaging to inform families of campus related academy emergencies and other communications. SchoolMessenger has a new automatic opt-in for text feature. During the registration/re-enrollment process families confirmed their wish to participate in text communications. Great Hearts will now automatically opt in contact information given during the registration/re-enrollment process with the options you selected. You will notice at the beginning of July you will be opted in for text messaging. If you would like to opt out of text messages simply reply STOP to the text from 67585. You can also enter the code 67585 with the message STOP to block any text messaging. Please note, if opting out, you will not receive texts regarding emergencies on campus.

Email Communications

If you know of parents who are not receiving these communications, please ask them to check their junk/promotions email folders, and then email bmcdonald@archwaytrivium.org for assistance.

You can also find ALL school-wide communications on our website on the Latest News page.
