A Message from Headmaster Scott
Dear Archway Trivium Families,
A new year is upon us! I love the energy of a new school year. I love the smiles on children’s faces. I love seeing teachers ply their craft. I love helping kindergarteners learn to go to school for the first time in their lives. In a perverse sort of way, I even love student pick-up (I realize I’m probably the only one).
Whether we want to laugh, cry, or just get into your most Zen position possible, pick up and drop off can be stressful for everyone. The system is long, but we are learning quite a bit. Here are some things I’ve observed:
- Drop off is looking smooth and steady. We got backed up a bit today, but we still averaged about 5 minutes per car (entering parking lot until student exits the car).
- Pick up starts out pretty well but slows once the middle school releases. There seem to be more middle school students getting picked up with the Archway students than in years past. Here are some suggestions that might help:
- Middle school releases at 3:15 PM, which means that middle school parents should wait until after 3:20 PM to pick them up.
- Consider picking up your Archway scholar then looping over to the prep side for your middle school scholar. The Prep pick up line is much shorter, so this option avoids the possibility of having to make a second pass.
- Scholars are figuring things out on the inside. We have a had a few scholars miss their locations, but on the whole, everyone is getting to the right place at the right time.
It is hard to believe that we are only three days into this year’s journey. I imagine that both teachers and scholars are tired today. None of us are in “game shape” yet, so we need to acclimate to the routine. That being said, I have already witnessed growth and learning throughout the academy. I look forward to the remaining 170 school days with eager eyes and an expectant heart. Our scholars are extremely capable and I can’t wait to see all the great things they will accomplish this year. So take the weekend to catch your breath, then come back Monday ready to joyfully work…it’ll be over before you know it!
Heartily Devoted,
Clay Scott
Headmaster

Road Work on Bullard Ave/Palm Ln. starts August 19
Construction on Bullard Ave is expected to begin on Monday, August 19 and last for two weeks. The lanes will be reduced on Bullard, and there will be no left turn out of Granada/Palm Ln. onto Bullard Ave. and no turning into Granada/Palm Ln from Bullard Ave. The U-turn onto Bullard (from south to north) will remain open. We ask for your patience as we adapt to the altered traffic patterns. Please reach out to our campus safety coordinator, Mike Johnson, with any questions.
Below is a rough map of one phase of construction to give you an idea of what you may encounter. There are several iterations to traffic flow changes, so please be patient and expect delays.

Traffic Flow for Student Drop-off/Pick-up | |

IMPORTANT: Please follow the link below to review the DETAILED Archway Traffic Flow Plan and be sure to share this link with anyone authorized to drop-off/pick-up your children.

School Messenger Communication
Great Hearts and Archway Trivium continue to utilize the system School Messenger for emails, robo-calls, and text messaging to inform families of campus related academy emergencies and other communications. SchoolMessenger has a new automatic opt-in for text feature. During the registration/re-enrollment process families confirmed their wish to participate in text communications. Great Hearts will now automatically opt in contact information given during the registration/re-enrollment process with the options you selected.
