A Message from Dr. Scott

Dear Archway Trivium families,

One of the exciting things about having a senior in high school is all the curiosity about university selection. Right now, it seems that every trip to the mailbox brings in a new wave of pamphlets, brochures, and letters encouraging our son to select this college or that. Amid the bright pictures of happy, active people we found this sentence in large bold print.

HERE, NOTHING IS SET IN STONE.

I was amazed. This slogan was not on a flyer for a cut-rate school, but rather a top-tier research institution. How could a place of learning deny its students of things that are solid and lasting, much less advertise that they do so? At best, this advertisement could be a message exulting their flexibility. But what about standards? What about expectations? What about calling scholars to higher and more expansive forms of thinking and viewing their world? Surely these require rigor, strength, or things “set in stone.”

As we close out this, our final full week of the semester, I am glad to work in a place where some things are set in stone. We rejoice in things that are old and permanent. Our scholars feel safe and secure knowing that complementary colors are beautiful, kindness is good and the law of gravity is true. With these hard and fast truths they can derive meaning from the world in a way that allows them to appreciate life’s challenging times and pleasant moments with equal vigor. Here, much is set in stone, and for that I am grateful. Have a wonderful weekend!

Clay Scott, Ed. D.

Headmaster, Archway Trivium

Pledge Leaders: Ethan V., Kira C., Layah I., Lailani T., Kean L.

School Messenger Communication

Great Hearts and Archway Trivium continue to utilize the system School Messenger for emails, robo-calls, and text messaging to inform families of campus related academy emergencies and other communications. SchoolMessenger has a new automatic opt-in for text feature. During the registration/re-enrollment process families confirmed their wish to participate in text communications. Great Hearts will now automatically opt in contact information given during the registration/re-enrollment process with the options you selected. You will notice at the beginning of July you will be opted in for text messaging. If you would like to opt out of text messages simply reply STOP to the text from 67585. You can also enter the code 67585 with the message STOP to block any text messaging. Please note, if opting out, you will not receive texts regarding emergencies on campus.

Email Communications

If you know of parents who are not receiving these communications, please ask them to check their junk/promotions email folders, and then email bmcdonald@archwaytrivium.org for assistance.

You can also find ALL school-wide communications on our website on the Latest News page.
