FRIDAY FLASH

January 13, 2023

A Note from Headmaster Scott

Dear Archway Trivium Families,

This coming Monday we will be celebrating Civil Rights Day, also known as Martin Luther King Jr. Day. My thought for you is a simple one, but a very valuable one. We live in a world that largely celebrates diversity, which is a good thing. Like many good things, we run a terrible risk when we make diversity our aim without discretion. When we speak of diversity, what are we really talking about? Diversity can be great or it can be useless. For example, if I want to study music, having the perspective of people with different eye color, or age, or income level would probably not be very helpful. However, having people who play different instruments, or have mastered different styles would be certainly enrich the conversation. This day of celebration marks for us the importance exercising wisdom in how we divide and group people. We can do so in ways that lift or in ways that do not. As we celebrate this Monday, let us reflect on the value of the diversity that matters most in our pursuit of truth—that of experiences, knowledge, values, and perspectives.

Heartily Devoted,

Clay Scott

Donation Requests

Our Health Office is looking for donations of the following items to support our students:

  • Lysol sanitizing wipes

Parents, if you would like to donate these items for our nurses to use in emergencies, this would be greatly appreciated. Donations can be left in the front office labeled for the Archway Trivium nurse. Thank you!

If your child was sent home with a loaner uniform, please wash and return it to the nurse's office as soon as possible.

Traffic Flow for Student Drop-off/Pick-up

With the expansion of Archway and addition of the new building, there are significant changes to the traffic flow for the upcoming school year. Please carefully review the new Archway Traffic Flow for Student Drop-off and Pick-up and reach out with any questions. Taking the time to understand these procedures will help to ensure the safety of our students/staff and a smooth traffic flow.

Carpooling Update: Our east side pick-up lane has had a faster track and will now be our designated carpool lane.

If you have 2 or more Archway ONLY pick-up cards, you will be guided into this fast-track lane for a faster pick-up. Please be sure to have your pick-up cards ready to show our traffic controllers that you are carpooling so they can guide you to the appropriate lane. To maintain the flow of pick-up, others may be directed to the fast-track lane, but carpools will be given priority. Please do not enter the carpool lanes until you are directed to do so.

As a reminder, if you are picking up Middle School students DO NOT ARRIVE to campus before 3:15 PM. This creates significant delays. If you arrive before 3:15, we will ask you to go back into our pick-up lanes and try again.

Please follow the link below to review the DETAILED Archway Traffic Flow Plan and be sure to share this link with anyone authorized to drop-off/pick-up your children.
