Meet the Teacher Open House - Monday, August 3

We are looking forward to our Meet the Teacher Open House on Monday, August 3. During the event times listed below families are invited to meet their child's teacher, visit the classroom and deliver books and supplies. Reminder: Students should come dressed in full uniform to our Meet the Teacher event.

Parents should plan to attend the Meet the Teacher based on the student's last name during the times below. Families will receive an introductory email from their classroom teachers on the morning of the Meet the Teacher and class assignments will be posted at the event as well.

Meet the Teacher Times (by student last name):

A-L: 1:00-2:30 PM

M-Z: 3:00-4:30 PM

During Meet the Teacher, there will be a School Info Fair in the Archway Multipurpose Room (MPR) featuring representatives from our Parent Service Organization (PSO), the Hot Lunch program, after-school Athenaeum, the School Nurse, and front office staff to answer questions.

Families will receive their PINK pick-up cards in the classroom of their oldest (or only) Archway student during Meet the Teacher night. Please note: Pick-up cards from last year are no longer valid. They cannot be used for student pickup.The PSO will also have a Back-to-School Photo Spot where you can take your child's photo to celebrate the new school year!

Medication and Health Plan Drop-off

Parents should bring any medications and 26-27 medical plans to the health office staff table during Meet the Teacher Night.Having these items available ahead of time will help us ensure we are ready to support students on the first day of school.

Limited Edition Spirit Wear will be sold at the PSO table during Meet the Teacher! Our first Archway Spirit Day is Friday, August 28 so this is your chance to stock up while supplies last!

The first day of school is memorable for students and parents. To honor this special moment for incoming Kindergarten students, Kindergarten parents will be able to walk their child onto the playground and spend a few minutes with their child on the first day of school during the times noted below. Class sections will be communicated by email on Monday, August 3.

First Day of Kindergarten - Thursday, August 6

Sections KA, KB & KC - 8:20-8:30 AM

Sections KD & KE - 8:40-8:50 AM

Kindergarten students who are dropped off (without a parent) before 7:50 AM will gather at a designated table in the Multi-Purpose Room (MPR) with activities and supervision. Once our older students are in class, Kindergarten students will proceed to the playground for a special time of play.

Traffic Flow for Student Drop-off/Pick-up

Please carefully review the Archway Traffic Flow for Student Drop-off and Pick-up and reach out with any questions. Taking the time to understand these procedures will help to ensure the safety of our students/staff and a smooth traffic flow.

General Reminders:

• Morning Drop-off is from 7:20-7:47 AM. Parents who wish to drop-off earlier must enroll in Early Drop-off Club. 
• Parents in the drop-off/pick-up zone must remain in their vehicle. Faculty will assist students exiting their vehicles, however, faculty are not allowed to assist students with car seats, so parents are highly encouraged to practice prior to the start of the year so that students are able to do that independently.
• Please have your PINK pick-up card clearly displayed on your dashboard during pick-up to help keep our process running smoothly. Pick-up cards will be handed out at Meet the Teacher in your oldest Archway child's classroom.
• Due to limited parking, there will be NO walk-up option for student drop-off/pick-up at this time.
• Parents with both Archway and Prep students, please review the pick-up procedure with your Trivium Prep students before the first day of school emphasizing the importance of arriving to the Archway Pick-up/Drop-off Zone promptly after school to be ready to load into your vehicle.

Archway students may not be dropped off/picked up in the Trivium Prep (6th-12 grade) traffic flow.

The Trivium Lunch Program is entirely managed and distributed by our Parent Service Organization volunteers. This program is open to all students, faculty, and staff at Trivium. 

Volunteer in the Lunch Room

The Archway Trivium PSO invites parent volunteers to help in the Archway Trivium Lunchroom! Parent volunteers can assist in serving the food, helping the younger children in the lunchroom, ensuring the lunch room remains clean and lunch period runs smoothly. You can sign up to volunteer once a month, once a week, or every day. It’s a very important volunteer role that also makes for a fun view into your scholar’s life at school!

All volunteers MUST be verified through the Great Heart volunteer application (Raptor) and have completed the Archway Trivium Volunteer Training prior to serving. Raptor clearance must be renewed annually based on application date.

Ways to Participate:

Volunteer as a Hot Lunch Server 

This role is responsible for organizing the lunches by grade and distributing them to the students as they come in for lunch. Please plan to be there from 10:30am-12:50pm. Volunteers will receive a lunch account credit with My Hot Lunchbox. The credit is $5 per person per day, and the volunteer must be registered to MHL with a matching email to receive the credit. The credits will be tallied monthly and credited to your account within the first 2 weeks of the following month. Please email psolunch@archwaytrivium.org if you have any questions regarding the credits. Children are not permitted to help with this volunteer position.

Volunteer as a Lunchroom Helper

This role was created to assist our 1st-5th grade classes and help keep the lunchroom clean and running smoothly. Please plan to be there from 10:45am-1:00pm. Younger siblings are welcome to serve alongside parents as a “Lunchroom Buddy.” 

Clubs Registration Now Open!

Registration for our Wednesday, Quarter 1 and vendor-led clubs will open on Friday, July 10 at 4pm. Additional fall-semester faculty-led clubs will be announced in the coming weeks. Registration is offered on a first come, first serve basis, so don't delay! If a club is full, please join the wait list to be notified should additional spots become available.

 Early Drop-off Club

Summer Reading Challenge Reminder

If your child participated in the Archway summer reading challenge, please bring the completed reading log to Meet the Teacher or on the first day of school. Please make sure your child's first and last name and classroom (once you know) are indicated on the form.

All participants will be rewarded with a popsicle and extra recess during the first quarter.

Purple Star Family Back-to-school Social - Saturday, August 8, 12-2 PM

All Archway Trivium and Trivium Prep military-related families are invited to join us for a Purple Star back-to-school social on Saturday, August 8 from 12-2pm in the Archway MPR. Boo Hoo/Yahoo Parent Social - Friday, August 7

Parents are invited to join the PSO at Panera Goodyear from 8-9:30 AM on Friday, August 7 after student drop-off for our annual "Boo Hoo/Yahoo! Parent Social." This is a great way to meet other parents and celebrate the start of the school year! Coffee, tea, juice and pastries will be provided and younger children are welcome to attend. Panera is located at 1452 N Pebble Creek Parkway. We hope to see you there!

Spirit Night at Fat Cats - Wednesday, August 12, 4-7 PM

Join us for a back-to-school Spirit Night at Fat Cats Surprise on Wednesday, August 12 from 4-7 PM. Fat Cats is located at 13100 N. Prasada Parkway, in Surprise. Join us for PSO Popsicles in the Park on Saturday, August 22 from 9-11 AM at Goodyear Community Park (3151 N. Litchfield Road, Goodyear). Spend time with other Archway Trivium families and help us welcome new families! Popsicles provided! Wear your swim suits and remember your sunscreen, water bottles, towel & park blanket or camp chair.

Health Office Updates

2026-2027 Asthma, Allergy, and Seizure Action Plans

Action plans & medication consent forms must be renewed for each school year. For 2026–2027 action plan forms and additional health office information, please visit the Great Hearts Health Office website for 2026-2027 documents to provide to your scholar's health care provider. All emergency medications must accompany an action plan. 

Volunteer Clearance Reminders:

As this school year comes to a close and we begin to prepare for the 2026-27 school year, the Great Hearts Security Team would like to share a few reminders regarding volunteer clearance:

1. If you were approved to volunteer this school year, please note your application approval is valid for one-year from the date of approval. For example, an application approved on 6/1/2026 will expire on 6/1/2027.
2. The Raptor system will send a reminder email 60 days prior to your application expiration date and again five days before expiration.
3. If you obtained a Fingerprint Clearance card this year as part of your volunteer approval, Great Hearts still requires you to complete a new Raptor application annually based on your application expiration date. If necessary, your Fingerprint Clearance card information may be used to support approval of future applications through the card’s expiration date.

The Athenaeum After-School Program is so much more than just ‘after-care’. Serving Grades K-5, Athenaeum is a comprehensive program that has the same culture and educational focus as the academy. Each day, students are provided with time for homework completion in addition to time for recreation, games, snack, socializing with friends, and enriching hands-on activities that follow a unique monthly theme.

Athenaeum is available from dismissal to 6:00 PM on all days the academy is in session.

School Messenger Communication

Great Hearts and Archway Trivium continue to utilize the system School Messenger for emails, robo-calls, and text messaging to inform families of campus related academy emergencies and other communications. SchoolMessenger has a new automatic opt-in for text feature. During the registration/re-enrollment process families confirmed their wish to participate in text communications. Great Hearts will now automatically opt in contact information given during the registration/re-enrollment process with the options you selected. You will notice at the beginning of July you will be opted in for text messaging. If you would like to opt out of text messages simply reply STOP to the text from 67585. You can also enter the code 67585 with the message STOP to block any text messaging. Please note, if opting out, you will not receive texts regarding emergencies on campus.
