A Message from the Headmaster

Dear Archway Trivium Families,

As the weather slowly ticks toward uncomfortable levels and children see summer vacation on the horizon, we enter our final week of the academic year. Our scholars have studied, conversed, sung, written, calculated and tested, and they will have just enough time to do each of these once more before we break for summer. Next week, I will write my annual letter where I wax poetic about how beautiful it is to see our scholars grow, but today I have a different subject. Today, I would like to share with you how our teachers have grown.

Many of your children have teachers who are in the early stages of their careers. There are various reasons for that, but for me it has been a tremendous joy to watch those young teachers develop. We are blessed at Trivium to have a fantastic set of instructional coaches, and witnessing the near daily interaction they have with their teachers is beautiful. Furthermore, it has played a significant role in that development. But beyond the coaching and other supports in place, these teachers are, at their core, virtuous and strong people. There is no way I could complete the list below, but I would like to provide just a few examples of courageous growth exhibited by our teachers. Here are a few things our teachers have done this year.

  • Took the job and began work on Meet the Teacher Day and then led the class well throughout the entire year despite not getting the initial Great Hearts training.
  • As a second-year teacher, was identified as a model for questioning in reading groups.
  • Asked to face a harsh reality about herself, she worked tirelessly to correct, change, and grow. (this was multiple teachers)
  • Began using manipulatives to teach math more effectively.
  • Had her instructional coach proof-read her emails to families until she could consistently write them well.
  • Visited classrooms of veteran teachers to observe excellent instruction. (again, this was done a lot)

This list could go on and on. Suffice it to say that I am proud of our teachers and grateful to work with such amazing people. Have a great weekend!

Heartily devoted,

Clay Scott, Ed.D.

Health Office Reminders

Medication Pick Up Alert

Parents of Archway Scholars:

If you have provided medication or medical supplies to the Archway Health Office, please contact 623-249-4591 to arrange for pick up. Routine medications can be picked up as early as 5/20/2025, during school hours. Emergency medications cannot be returned until 5/22/2025, during school hours. Any medications and/or medical supplies that are not picked up by noon on 5/22/2025 will be disposed of. We are unable to store medications at school over the summer. Just a reminder: Students are not allowed to carry medication to or from school unless they have self-carry authorization on file. Action plans must be renewed each school year. Visit the Great Hearts Health Office website for 25-26 Action Plans.

2025-2026 Asthma, Allergy, and Seizure Action Plans

Action plans & medication consent forms must be renewed each school year. Please visit https://arizona.greatheartsamerica.org/academy-life/health-office/ for 2025-2026 documents to provide to your scholar's health care provider. All emergency medications must accompany an action plan.

6th Grade Immunization Requirements

Parents of Rising 6th Graders:

Your child has had/or is about to have their 11th birthday, and we wanted to remind you of an important requirement in accordance with Arizona State Law (A.R.S 15-872). All students must provide proof of immunizations or a valid exemption to attend school.

It is mandatory for all students who turn 11 to receive the Meningococcal and Tdap immunizations. The Meningococcal vaccine protects against the meningitis bacteria, while the Tdap vaccine safeguards against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (whooping cough).

Please schedule an appointment with your child's pediatrician during their 11th year and provide the school with an updated copy of their immunization record afterward. It's crucial to note that the State of Arizona has adjusted their compliance rules, and your child will not be compliant once they turn 12. If the school does not have proof of these immunizations or a valid exemption after your child turns 12, they will not be able to attend school per Arizona State Law.

Configio/Parent Payment Portal Refunds for Charges made prior to Nov 1

Please be aware that some refunds for purchases made in the Configio/Parent Payment Portal prior to November 1 may not be processed back to the original credit card used. In these instances, you will receive an email with a secure link from Kleercard, prompting you to enter your ACH information for the refund. This is a legitimate process and not a phishing attempt. The link from Kleercard is safe and does not provide anyone at Great Hearts access to your account information. Using Kleercard allows for a quicker and more secure refund process than mailing a paper check through the United States Postal Service. If you prefer to receive your refund via a paper check, please contact your campus office manager.

Communication Updates

Latest News image.png

School Messenger Communication

Great Hearts and Archway Trivium continue to utilize the system School Messenger for emails, robo-calls, and text messaging to inform families of campus related academy emergencies and other communications. SchoolMessenger has a new automatic opt-in for text feature. During the registration/re-enrollment process families confirmed their wish to participate in text communications. Great Hearts will now automatically opt in contact information given during the registration/re-enrollment process with the options you selected. You will notice at the beginning of July you will be opted in for text messaging. If you would like to opt out of text messages simply reply STOP to the text from 67585. You can also enter the code 67585 with the message STOP to block any text messaging. Please note, if opting out, you will not receive texts regarding emergencies on campus.

Email Communications

If you know of parents who are not receiving these communications, please ask them to check their junk/promotions email folders, and then email bmcdonald@archwaytrivium.org for assistance.

You can also find ALL school-wide communications on our website on the Latest News page.
