FRIDAY FLASH

November 11, 2022

A Note from Headmaster Scott

Dear Archway Trivium West Families,

As we enter a time of year that involves reflection, appreciation, joy, and gratitude, I invite you to join us in celebrating gratitude with our Academy on November 29th for #GivingTuesday. This national day of giving was created to focus on doing good for the community after Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday.

I am grateful to our parents who already support our classrooms through Community Investment. On Giving Tuesday, our intent is to work towards reaching our Community Investment goal and raise $10,000.

I invite families who have not yet supported our school this year to make a gift on #GivingTuesday to show their gratitude. All gifts will support our operating budget and help us close the funding gap of $1,500 per student. You can give here or by connecting with Annann Hong, our Family Giving Officer, at ahong@archwaytrivium.org or (773) 307-6779.

Follow us on social media on Tuesday, November 29th to learn more about THE TRIVIUM STORY OF WHY behind our ask. Thank you, again, for your support of our Academy; we truly could not do it without you.

Heartily Devoted,

Clay Scott

Headmaster

PSO Snowstorm - 2022 Faculty and Staff Holiday Appreciation

Time is running out to give to Snowstorm!!

The final deadline is Friday, November 18.

Snowstorm is an easy way to show love to our teachers during the holidays. Families who contribute to Snowstorm by November 18 will have their scholar’s name printed in a holiday card presented to teachers and staff during a special holiday breakfast in early December.

Each year at the holidays, our community joins in the collective giving spirit in a tradition known as Snowstorm. In lieu of gifts for each of your scholar’s six teachers, show your appreciation by giving an offering of thanks to be divided among Archway Trivium West faculty and staff. This year, we are asking families to consider a gift of $50 per scholar to help us reach our $17,000 goal. This would mean a holiday gift of $175 for each full-time staff member! Snowstorm is a unique opportunity to show support to our wonderful community and is a beloved tradition here at Archway Trivium West. A donations of ANY amount is greatly appreciated, after first giving to Community Investment.

Follow the steps below to help us Fall into a Snowstorm!

Families who have not already given are asked to first give to Community Investment before giving a Snowstorm Holiday Gift. Please consider giving to help us reach our goal!

First, Give to Community Investment

Then, Give to the PSO Snowstorm

Families who have not yet signed/returned the Family Handbook must complete and return the paper form sent home with your scholars. Please reach out to the front office with questions.

2021-22 State Test Results

If you did not receive your child's state test results during conferences, they are now available in the front office. This only applies to current 4th and 5th grade students who attended Archway Trivium West. If your student did not attend Archway Trivium West last year, you will need to contact your former school for test results.

Traffic Flow for Student Drop-off/Pick-up

With the expansion of Archway and addition of the new building, there are significant changes to the traffic flow for the upcoming school year. Please carefully review the new Archway Traffic Flow for Student Drop-off and Pick-up and reach out with any questions. Taking the time to understand these procedures will help to ensure the safety of our students/staff and a smooth traffic flow.

Carpooling Update: Our east side pick-up lane has had a faster track and will now be our designated carpool lane.

If you have 2 or more Archway ONLY pick-up cards, you will be guided into this fast-track lane for a faster pick-up. Please be sure to have your pick-up cards ready to show our traffic controllers that you are carpooling so they can guide you to the appropriate lane. To maintain the flow of pick-up, others may be directed to the fast-track lane, but carpools will be given priority. Please do not enter the carpool lanes until you are directed to do so.

As a reminder, if you are picking up Middle School students DO NOT ARRIVE to campus before 3:15 PM. This creates significant delays. If you arrive before 3:15, we will ask you to go back into our pick-up lanes and try again.

Please follow the link below to review the DETAILED Archway Traffic Flow Plan and be sure to share this link with anyone authorized to drop-off/pick-up your children.
