A Note from Headmaster Scott
Dear Archway Trivium West Families,
At Great Hearts, we celebrate with a purpose. Rather than indulge in mere amusements, we celebrate significant aspects of the human experience. Today, we celebrated our literary and historical figure day. Our faculty, staff, and scholars all took on the character of someone significant in our curriculum. We formalized the selection process in hopes that scholars would be more reflective in their consideration of a character. My hope is that this deeper consideration has made this experience more formative than it has been in the past. For my part, I became Theodore Laurance, from Little Women. Here is was I shared with the scholars.
Hello! My name is Theodore Laurance, but my friends call me Laurie. I was orphaned at a young age, and so I live in a large house with my grandfather. He is wealthy, but quiet and unassuming, though he can also be stern. Across the way, live the March family. My best friend is Jo, short for Josephine. She enjoys my sense of humor, even when I get into mischief, though she does not approve of such things. She is always telling me to take my studies more seriously and to read books. Jo and her sisters always have books around. I guess, if I want to be honest with myself, I would have to admit that I would rather spend time in the March home than in my own. Grandfather is a good man and he gives me whatever I need before I ask, which is why Jo sometimes calls me “spoiled.” However, in the March home, even though they have few possessions, there is a feeling of warmth and life that can only exist when a family genuinely loves each other. As we grow up together, this influence will help me to develop into a strong, reflective, and morally good man. I hope that each of you can learn, like I did, the value of strong family relationships and good friendships. I further hope that you can sanctify those relationships through the development of virtue and the practice of self-sacrifice. Doing so will help you have a happier life…that’s a promise!
Heartily Devoted,
Clay Scott
Headmaster

PSO Snowstorm - 2022 Faculty and Staff Holiday Appreciation
The PSO Snowstorm is underway, now through November 18! Snowstorm is an easy way to show love to our teachers during the holidays. Families who contribute to Snowstorm by November 18 will have their scholar’s name printed in a holiday card presented to teachers and staff during a special holiday breakfast in early December.
Each year at the holidays, our community joins in the collective giving spirit in a tradition known as Snowstorm. In lieu of gifts for each of your scholar’s six teachers, show your appreciation by giving an offering of thanks to be divided among Archway Trivium West faculty and staff. This year, we are asking families to consider a gift of $50 per scholar to help us reach our $10,000 goal. This would mean a holiday gift of $175 for each full-time staff member! Snowstorm is a unique opportunity to show support to our wonderful community and is a beloved tradition here at Archway Trivium West. A donations of ANY amount is greatly appreciated, after first giving to Community Investment.
Follow the steps below to help us Fall into a Snowstorm!
Families who have not already given are asked to first give to Community Investment before giving a Snowstorm Holiday Gift. Please consider giving to help us reach our goal!
First, Give to Community Investment

Traffic Flow for Student Drop-off/Pick-up
With the expansion of Archway and addition of the new building, there are significant changes to the traffic flow for the upcoming school year. Please carefully review the new Archway Traffic Flow for Student Drop-off and Pick-up and reach out with any questions. Taking the time to understand these procedures will help to ensure the safety of our students/staff and a smooth traffic flow.
Carpooling Update: Our east side pick-up lane has had a faster track and will now be our designated carpool lane.
If you have 2 or more Archway ONLY pick-up cards, you will be guided into this fast-track lane for a faster pick-up. Please be sure to have your pick-up cards ready to show our traffic controllers that you are carpooling so they can guide you to the appropriate lane. To maintain the flow of pick-up, others may be directed to the fast-track lane, but carpools will be given priority. Please do not enter the carpool lanes until you are directed to do so.
As a reminder, if you are picking up Middle School students DO NOT ARRIVE to campus before 3:15 PM. This creates significant delays. If you arrive before 3:15, we will ask you to go back into our pick-up lanes and try again.
Please follow the link below to review the DETAILED Archway Traffic Flow Plan and be sure to share this link with anyone authorized to drop-off/pick-up your children.
