A Message from the Headmaster
The Transcendental Report
Truth
This week I extended an offer to hire a one-to-one aid for a scholar with special needs. Although this clearly not a practical resource to provide for every student, I love that we have the means to do so in these special cases. For me, this experience emphasized the value of each and every human soul. What greater truth is there?
Goodness
One of my favorite things is to read to our scholars. After sharing a story, usually from ancient Greece or Rome, our scholars kindly thank me for reading to them. In fact, they are quick to thank anyone who comes in to lead their class, even if it is for a short period of time. It is a simple thing, but having a grateful outlook on life is a recipe for long term happiness and our scholars practice this every day.
Beauty
Recess! In our age of virtual living, is there any more refreshing and quickening sound than that of children at play? The din of a playground is an opus of joy.
Heartily devoted,
Clay Scott, Ed.D.
Headmaster

Literary and Historical Figure Day - Friday, November 14
Save the Date for our annual Literary & Historical Figure Day on Friday, November 14. Scholars are invited to choose a literary or historical figure from the Archway curriculum and come to school dressed as that figure* on Friday, November 14. This is a great way to celebrate our love of history and literature. All students are encouraged to participate!
Please Note: Students must complete and return a Costume Proposal Form to their classroom teacher in order to participate.
*Please remember that the character you choose should be from one of the Classics-to-Keep from the K-12 list, Greek or Roman Mythology or a historical character from our History or Science curriculum. It’s preferred, but not required, that your character looks like the author’s description of the character and not a movie version. If your costume will be at all see through, you must wear your uniform underneath. If you choose not to participate, you will need to come in uniform.
*All costumes must abide by dress code guidelines in the Family Handbook and must exclude any frightening or aggressive costumes or accessories.
At Archway Trivium we have various days throughout the year where students are encourage to come dressed in costumes that center around our curriculum. We do not allow costumes to celebrate holidays like Halloween.

School Messenger Communication
Great Hearts and Archway Trivium continue to utilize the system School Messenger for emails, robo-calls, and text messaging to inform families of campus related academy emergencies and other communications. SchoolMessenger has a new automatic opt-in for text feature. During the registration/re-enrollment process families confirmed their wish to participate in text communications. Great Hearts will now automatically opt in contact information given during the registration/re-enrollment process with the options you selected. You will notice at the beginning of July you will be opted in for text messaging. If you would like to opt out of text messages simply reply STOP to the text from 67585. You can also enter the code 67585 with the message STOP to block any text messaging. Please note, if opting out, you will not receive texts regarding emergencies on campus.
Email Communications
If you know of parents who are not receiving these communications, please ask them to check their junk/promotions email folders, and then email bmcdonald@archwaytrivium.org for assistance.
You can also find ALL school-wide communications on our website on the Latest News page.
