Bring Your Best Self to Your Work with Youth with WYEN’s Back to School Webinar

Join WYEN on September 15 at 11:30am for The Mentor Mindset: Bringing Our Best Selves to Youth, the first session in our Fall Roadmap Series. Young people are wired to find their place in the world by testing ideas, pushing against boundaries, and watching closely for where they belong and what they’re capable of. In this Zoom session, we’ll explore developmental psychologist Dr. David Yeager’s Mentor Mindset, a framework for scaffolding adolescent growth that replaces old assumptions about young people’s capabilities with a clearer picture of what they’re capable of and what they need from us to get there. You’ll leave with a practical way to put the mentor mindset into practice in your own context.

Build Belonging with PEAR

PEAR’s Building Belonging Workshop will be held on Thursday, September 24 from 12:00-2:00pm via Zoom. The session translates decades of youth development research into tools you can use in your out-of-school time (OST) program. Explore ways to build psychological safety, co-create community agreements, strengthen communication and empathy, and use the strengths of youth and staff to help young people thrive. Registration is $200 and includes a certificate of attendance.
