Montessori Moment
Maria Montessori designed her educational materials more than a century ago, yet they continue to be used in classrooms around the world today because they are profoundly effective.
Grounded in careful scientific observation of how children naturally learn, Montessori materials are intentionally hands-on and multi-sensory. Children learn using all their senses: listening, seeing, touching, and actively engaging with concepts. When a child traces a sandpaper letter or builds a mathematical idea using concrete materials, multiple senses are activated, strengthening understanding, retention, and neural connections.
The materials are also self-correcting, allowing students to recognize and adjust errors independently. Thoughtfully sequenced, they guide children from concrete experiences to abstract thinking, fostering both deep comprehension and growing independence.
Their longevity is rooted in grounded in results. When children learn with their hands, their minds, and their whole selves engaged, learning becomes meaningful, lasting, and transformative.
