“Sounds” By: Mrs. Cooper

The students have explored the theme of Sound through the study of the abstract, Russian artist Wassily Kandinsky. He is known for his visual interpretations of musical compositions through color, geometric shapes and lines to create a sense of rhythm and emotional experience.

We recently had a donation of old LP records that were going to be trashed. We talked about the way these records played music and how technology has had so many advances that now music is heard digitally. Using these records as canvases really connected the children to interpreting the sounds into color, lines and shapes. Listening to jazz in the classroom, they've created these wonderful art pieces for all of you to dive into their creative, emotional world of sound through color.

Suggested donation: $15-$100
