TMS Welcomes a Literary Specialist

We’re excited to share some wonderful news at TMS!

We have welcomed a dedicated Literary Specialist, Ms. Mary Kate McCoog, to our faculty. She will work closely with our guides to provide more individualized support and enrichment, ensuring that students feel confident and capable in their reading journey.

Strong reading skills are the foundation for success in every subject—and a gateway to lifelong learning. Students who read well are much more likely to excel across the curriculum. By identifying a child's unique challenges, our Literary Specialist will help students develop stronger literacy skills, while building self-confidence, and cultivate a lasting love of reading.

This important addition reflects our ongoing commitment to investing in your children’s education and providing them with the resources they need to thrive—not only in the classroom, but also as curious, capable learners prepared for future success.

About Mary Kate McCoog

Mary Kate McCoog is very excited to join the TMS team as the new part time literacy specialist! Her fifteen years of experience in education include general education and special education in grades K-8. Mary Kate has experience using phonics, reading, and writing programs such as Fundations, Wilson, Orton-Gillingham, UFLI, EL Education, and Collins Writing. She believes in meeting children where they are in terms of areas of strength and need (academically, socially/emotionally), and then coming up with a plan to practice building skills in multisensory, fun, and meaningful ways. In her free time, she enjoys running, yoga, and spending quality time with friends and family.

Car Line Reminders

  1. Arrival Time: Students should arrive between 8:15 AM and 8:45 AM. Students arriving after 8:45 AM will be considered late, and an email will be sent home to notify you. Please make sure to plan accordingly to avoid any disruptions to the start of the school day.
  2. Drop-Off Procedures: Please remain in your vehicle during drop-off. Our staff will be available to assist your child out of the car. For safety reasons, students should not exit the car unless a staff member is present to greet them.
