Happy Spring Break!


There is no school the week of March 24-28. Whatever your plans, we hope your family enjoys the time together. We look forward to welcoming students back to school Monday, March 31.

You're Invited! Coffee Cart – Friday, April 4


MacLaren's Parent Service Association (PSA) invites parents to join its monthly coffee gathering at morning drop-off. Join other parents on the Plaza for coffee and conversation. Please bring your own mug/cup. Parents are also welcome to join the 8:00 a.m. Lower School Morning Assembly on Coffee Cart Fridays. Please allow time for check-in at the Main Entrance or at the gym if you intend to stay for Assembly. Check-in is not required for the Coffee Cart gathering.

Parent-to-Parent Social – Friday, April 4


All K-12 parents are invited to attend a Parent-to-Parent Social on Friday, April 4, 6:30-8:30 p.m., on the Plaza. Lawn games, appetizers, and beverages will be provided by the Parent Service Association (PSA). Come enjoy an evening of community, rain or shine.


No registration is necessary at this adult-only event. We hope to see you there! Please contact Mrs. Oram with any questions.

Last Chess Club – Thursday, April 3


Thanks to all who have made the Chess Club a success! Thursday, April 3, is the last meeting for Lower School Chess Club this year. Contact Mrs. Finch with any questions.

Upper School Announcements

Morning Assembly Orchestra Performances


Parents and guardians are welcome to attend Upper School orchestra performances during Morning Assembly. Orchestra IV performs Tuesday, April 1, and Orchestra V performs Thursday, April 3.



Each orchestra will begin playing at 7:45 a.m. Doors will open at 7:40 a.m. Guests may arrive as early as 7:15 a.m. to check in and receive a guest badge. If you cannot arrive by 7:15 a.m., please allow 10-15 minutes for the check-in process.


Please note, this round of performances does not include a "Music and Muffins" gathering.

Students dance at Spring Formal

Free Dance Lessons for Juniors and Seniors


Juniors and seniors are invited to attend free dance lessons in preparation for Spring Formal. Naomi Skee, a MacLaren parent, will be providing the lessons on Wednesday, April 2, and Wednesday, April 9, 3:45 - 4:45 p.m., in the Commons. A sign-up form for students will be available at the clan table in the trophy hallway.

Come support our Highlanders at our HOME events! HS event admission is $6 for K-12 and senior citizens, $7 for adults. MS event admission is $2 for K-12, senior citizens are free, $3 for adults.

Volunteer and Fundraising Opportunities

Opportunities to Volunteer in Lower School


Do you have 30-40 minutes available in your morning that you could spend reading a story to Kindergarten children or helping third-grade reading groups? Many of the Lower School teachers welcome volunteers in their classrooms and a variety of options are available.


Please visit the Volunteer Information page of the website and check out the sign-up forms to see if there is an opportunity that is a good fit for your schedule and interests! All volunteers who help in the classroom must complete the Volunteer Application and be approved. Thank you!
