Senior Drama Performances – March 10-11 and March 12-13

Don't miss MacLaren seniors performing Shakespeare! Performances will be held 6:30 p.m., in the Auditorium. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Come support the seniors and enjoy a bit of theater. Admission is free and all are welcome!

In-service Day, No Classes – March 14

Friday, March 14, will be an in-service day for teachers and staff. There will be no classes for students. Enjoy the three-day weekend!

MacLaren Society: The Enduring Conversation – March 15

In honor of the ten-year anniversary of the MacLaren Society and of Mrs. Hall as she prepares to retire, we invite you to a very special MacLaren Society on “The Enduring Conversation.”

Join us for a beautiful celebration of the liberal arts. Mr. LaBadie will speak about how the restoration of Notre-Dame de Paris required both an honoring of the past and a beautiful vision of the future. Mr. Bob, former MacLaren science teacher, will explore the challenges of biologic classification. And Dr. Redpath, along with the MacLaren String Quartet and other musical guests, will continue a long conversation with Johannes Sebastian Bach.

MacLaren Society events are free of charge, open to the public, and for adults and Thomas MacLaren eleventh and twelfth grade students only.

Register now! Space is limited. In consideration of our entire community, please secure only seats you are certain you will be able to fill.

Upper School Announcements

Neon Night High School Spring Social – March 8

MacLaren high school students are invited to a Spring Social, Saturday, March 8, 6:30-8:30 p.m., in the MacLaren gym. The theme is Neon Night.

Tickets are $10 and may be purchased on MySchoolBucks by 4:00 p.m. on March 7. Limited on-site registration will be available.

Assistant Heads of School and Deans spoke with all the high school students about dress expectations for the event. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Pingel.

Are you available to support the fun with a snack or decoration donation (no volunteer clearance needed), or as an event volunteer? To volunteer at the event, you must have already completed the Volunteer Application and been approved.with Fall Social

Morning Assembly Orchestra Performances

Parents and guardians are welcome to attend Upper School orchestra performances during Morning Assembly. Orchestra I Alphas perform Tuesday, March 11, and Orchestra I Betas perform Thursday, March 13.

Each orchestra will begin playing at 7:45 a.m. Doors will open at 7:40 a.m. Guests may arrive as early as 7:15 a.m. to check in and receive a guest badge. If you cannot arrive by 7:15 a.m., please allow 10-15 minutes for the check-in process.

Please note, this round of performances does not include a "Music and Muffins" gathering.

Students receive awards at Sports Awards Night

Winter Athletics Awards Night – March 18

MacLaren invites middle school and high school basketball athletes and their families to Winter Awards Night, Tuesday, March 18, at 6:30 p.m., in the Auditorium. We hope you’ll join us in celebrating the accomplishments of all our boys’ and girls’ basketball programs!

We will follow the awards presentation with a reception in the Commons. If you would like to contribute food for this event, please sign up below.

Student attire should adhere to Honors Assemblies guidelines available in the 2024-25 Parent-Student Handbook page 58.

D11 is offering a lacrosse program for high school boys and girls. All gear is provided. No experience is needed. Contact Mrs. Steigerwald for more information.
