Husky Greetings After a Very Busy Second Week!

All seems to be settling in as our students, with the help of their advisors, teachers, and support staff, have begun to master the new schedule, new classes, new friends and just getting from one ZOOM link to another in time for their next commitment.

Behind the scenes is an incredibly talented and dedicated faculty and staff. Our teachers are subject-area specialists, first and foremost, but they also possess the drive and passion to help educate a new generation of students in their minds, hearts, and bodies, even if it means doing it in a whole new way. Our teachers are pushing students to reach their academic potential, improve their physical health and athletic abilities, and find new passions that they may have never otherwise explored.

Thank you so much for your enthusiastic participation in Back to School Night. It was great to see your faces, the turnout was a record, and the feedback has been positive. As always, constructive criticism that has been shared this week will allow us to effect changes in the future which will make our events even better. We hope you enjoyed the evening!

The start of a new school year is always exciting and we look forward to seeing you again for the Grade Level Gatherings starting with senior families on Thursday, September 10th. You can find the full schedule of these gatherings for each grade by visiting the "Announcements and Events" page of our website under the "Community Tab." You may access that page by clicking the button below.
Our hope is to be on campus as soon as we can. You may have heard that the Los Angeles Department of Health has revised guidelines to allow certain highly specialized, small populations, such as students with IEPs, to return to campus if protocols are in place. However, the overall maximum capacity of this isolated group can only be 10% of the student body, and no more than 12 students per cohort. We have decided to wait until this capacity amount is increased before we consider bringing RHP & Renaissance cohorts to campus. We continue to evaluate the potential for REACH students to be on campus in the West Wing, and will be announcing any plans to do so next week.

As always, don’t hesitate to reach out with feedback about how we are doing, at dmaher@rollinghillsprep.org. I always value your insight and perspective.

Enjoy the Holiday Weekend,

David
