New Jersey Update
This afternoon, Governor Phil Murphy announced an additional 820 positive COVID-19 cases, increasing the statewide total to 881,991. An additional 26 deaths were announced, increasing the statewide total to 23,258. The total number of vaccine doses that have been administered in NJ is 7,873,861 and 3,619,714 NJ residents are fully vaccinated. The State's June 30th goal calls for 4.7 million total vaccinated residents, 70% of the adult population. The vaccination dashboard will be updated by municipality, allowing users to sort the data by age group, vaccine dosage rates, and type of vaccines delivered.

Despite the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention easing mask wearing guidance for fully vaccinated people, New Jersey is not ready to ditch face coverings in public settings, Gov. Phil Murphy said today. Murphy's main reasoning for holding on to the mask mandate is because it's not fair to workers in public settings to distinguish between vaccinated and unvaccinated patrons. Ditching the masks too soon could also derail the progress New Jersey has made over the last month. Read More Here.

Earlier this week the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) revised their Emergency Use Authorization for the Pfizer vaccine for adolescents 12 to 15. This is particularly impactful for revised school guidance from the Department of Health. The Administration will be be working with schools to vaccinate eligible adolescents upon authorization. Currently, districts remaining in all-remote operation has declined to 13, with many districts transitioning to hybrid schedules. Read More Here.
