INFORMATION FROM PEEL WASTE
In Peel, processed recyclable material is mainly sold to various markets in North America, i.e., cans, bottles, jars, jugs, tubs, cartons and other consumer packaging products. Paper fibre is sold to the Canadian market. About half of the paper products can be re-sold to international end markets. Non-recyclable items mistakenly put in the recycling stream are picked out and sent to landfill. We the tax payers bear this cost.
The cost of recycling includes collection and processing. Collection costs approximately $15 million per year. Processing costs approximately $15 million per year. Our tax dollars. A provincial stewardship program provides some funds. Also revenue from sale of material offsets some operational costs.

REQUEST FROM DEACON'S CUPBOARD
Do you have Canadian Tire money that you could donate to Deacon's Cupboard to help purchase items for the operation of the Cupboard?
If so, place it in the box at the back of the sanctuary. Every small amount helps. Thank-you. Linda Leeder
