STEWARDSHIP 2018 - Update
After two weeks of our 2018 Stewardship Program, we have received 35 responses compared to 39 at this stage last year. The good news is that these commitments are in total $2655 above those made by these individuals or families in 2017.
If you have not returned your form, you are encouraged to do so by placing it in the box in the church foyer, leaving it in the church office or mailing it using the self- addressed envelope enclosed with your package. Our Envelope Secretary, Mike Ogilvie, will deal with your estimate in confidence.
With gratitude to God for all your gifts, prayerfully consider your commitment to the work of your church.
THE EMUC STRIDERS
Sunday November 18th,
the Striders
will explore the Cooksville Creek Trail – Start at Mississauga Valleys Community Centre, from the southwest parking lot towards Dundas Street. The trail parallels the creek through the Valleys park, into Stonebrook Park, under the rail overpass to circle through R Jones Park, Whitchurch Mews and Given Road.
After eating your own bagged lunch in the Narthex, car pooling will be arranged to leave the church parking lot at 12:00 noon. The duration of the hike will be 1 hr 15 mins on mostly paved surfaces with one downward slope on natural hardpack. Anticipate return to EMUC by 2:15 pm. Dress for the weather conditions; bring a snack item and water bottle. Public toilets are available inside the Community Centre. Contact Tim Hayes

for further details.
ADVENT STUDY GROUP
For those who want an opportunity to go a little deeper into Christmas, I am offering a
3-week small group seminar called Living Nativity,
to start on December 4th. Focusing on the traditional creches that we bring out to decorate our homes and churches, we will take a closer look at the figures and how their presence in the story connects with our own spiritual journey. We will explore incarnation in the bigger picture of love and as a practice of cooperation. We will see how each figure can infuse the ordinary, and we will ask who is always in the story and never in the creche.
Our beloved figures take us deeply into the mystery of incarnation and the divine longing at the heart of “the hopes and fears of all the years.”
Each week there will be 2 opportunities to participate – a
Tuesday afternoon session at 2pm and a Wednesday evening session at 7:30pm.
Please sign up on the sheet on the back bulletin board or contact Kathi at
[email protected]
or leave a message at (905)820-9466.
