Friday Ministry Spotlight:

Wednesday Evening Programs

This week we concluded our Wednesday Evening Programs for the semester. It is inspiring to stand back and look at the big picture of all that takes place on Wednesday evenings on our church campus! For adults, you'll find Small Groups and Disciple Fast Track Bible Study. We've heard remarks on how rich and deep these opportunities have been, leading to a new and greater love for God's word. The band practices for Sunday's 9:00am Worship Service. Our Nursery, Elementary, and Youth gather for dinner, worship, and fun in the Education Building. Several other groups have formed on their own, on and off campus.

There is life inside of the doors of each building as well as inside the hearts of the many who have chosen to make spiritual develpment a priority on Wednesday evenings. Below you'll hear a few breif insights on the best aspects of Wednesday evenings from the perspectives of several ministry leaders!

"The best thing that happened this year during our Wave Youth Wednesday Nights was experiencing the growth in our group in spirituality, maturity and also in the number of new faces that have now become part of our regular core group of Youth. The opportunity to see growth in our students and engage with Youth from 6th to 12th grade on a weekly basis, who personally desire to be a part of The Wave Youth and PBMC as a whole is inspiring as well as encouraging."

Ryan Etheredge, Youth Director

"Our worship time on Wednesday evenings is unmatched. Perdido Bay Kids! loves to make a joyful noise to the Lord and to praise God through spirit-led song and dance. Without fail, they always ask for “just one more song!” And they know I will usually oblige! My favorite Wednesday of the year was our Children and Youth Night of Worship. Allowing this generation to lead our church from the opening moment of worship until the closing prayer was impactful, unifying, and inspiring. These kids LOVE Jesus and deeply desire to share their faith and that particular evening allowed each of them to shine their lights in such beautiful and lasting ways."

Rachel Criss, Elementary Children's Director

"Our Wednesday nights in the nursery are special because we eat dinner together around the table, family style. This simple gesture creates a space where everyone can come as they are, talk about their day and know they are loved and accepted at church. There is always a fun lesson on Wednesdays and the best thing is that we are building the foundation of faith and learning that Jesus is loving, forgiving and our forever friend!"

Kate Podschun, Nursery Director
