Likely you’ve noticed—this church is a welcoming place!
Every week, you’ll find smiling, friendly people strategically placed throughout the building: at the outside doors, Sanctuary doors, Hospitality Desk, Coffee Station, and more. They’ll serve you communion, maintain a safe campus, and take your money (in the offering plate, of course!).
These wonderful servants of Christ make up our Hospitality Team. It’s hard to imagine a Sunday morning without them! They help set the tone and maintain order. They calm the nerves of newcomers and lift the spirits of those who arrive with heavy hearts. They make sure the coffee is flowing, assist with event sign-ups, and even keep the peppermints restocked.
They handle both the practical and relational sides of hospitality—and we appreciate each one of them!
The Hospitality Team is led by our Church Hostess, Renee Hartshorn.
Renee and her family made Perdido Bay Methodist their home church after visiting in 2018 and being so touched by the friendly atmosphere that they quickly realized they never wanted to leave.
Several years later, Renee had the opportunity to join the staff team and help ensure that the house of God continues to grow as a place of welcoming hospitality. Hers is a remarkable testimony of how God steps into our lives and so beautifully shows us the way. Here, she found a renewed faith in Christ, a church family, and a career. Beyond that, Renee and her family have invited many others who have now made this their church home as well.
