Friday Ministry Spotlight:

Audio Visual, Maintenance, and Custodial

Kenny Stewart is our Audio-Visual Engineer, Maintenance Technician, and Custodian. He is usually on campus before the sun comes up and often the last to leave.

You’ve likely noticed the quality sound and lighting provided during worship - that comes from over 30 years of experience. Kenny started learning AV skills during his teen years as his family was involved with various musical groups throughout his childhood. Following high school, he attended Full Sail University in Orlando, FL where he received intensive training in their Recording Arts Program. After working in a Branson theater for two years, he began a 23-year journey as project manager for two Audio Visual Installation Companies. This gave him the opportunity to install systems nationwide for stadiums, auditoriums, and churches (including our Activities Center in 2017), while also running sound for several recognizable musical groups.

In 2019, he joined our church staff as AV Engineer—a move that allowed him to be home more often with his wife, April (who you will find volunteering frequently at the sound desk), as well as two grown sons and 4 grandchildren. Kenny was instrumental in the design and installation of our Sanctuary AV system which has been recognized in several publications for its state-of-the-art design and technology. As the years have progressed, he has taken on additional roles in Maintenance and Custodial work. Our buildings are well taken care of because of his attention to detail and diligence!

He remarks that his favorite part of work in here is the daily interactions and friendships amongst the staff. He is known here for his dry sense of humor and ability to say just about anything while still remaining friendly!

We appreciate Kenny for his hard work, which does not go unnoticed!
