Our NEWEST member!

With the recent news surrounding Sears Holdings Corporation, we want to assure our customers and trade partners that we are going strong and will continue providing the community access to the brands they love and need.

Sears Hometown Stores are not a part of Sears Holdings Corporation. Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores, Inc. (NASDAQ: SHOS) separated from Sears Holdings Corporation in October 2012 and is a completely separate, publicly-traded company. The news from Sears Holdings is in no way a reflection of the health of Sears Hometown and Outlet stores.
The Fitzgerald store is locally owned and operated and is not going anywhere! We love our town and being an part of the community.

While we believe Sears Holdings will be around for years to come utilizing their many new strategies, we thought it important to explain we are not the same company. Sears is a big part of American History from its start by a Minnesota railway station agent selling watches in his spare time to what would soon become the biggest retailer in the world.
We wish this American Icon future success.

Many people have reached out to us this past week. Thank You for your concern, we value your support and your friendship. We are not leaving you, we are only getting started.

Your Fitzgerald Hometown team.

Gary and Cathy Smith and staff.

Here's a quick list of what's needed for next Thursday:

  • Door prizes - please drop off a prize or two with Donna or Christy at FWLB.  Make sure the prizes are gender neutral.  We'll have a number in the candy bags that will match a prize so they can quickly pick it up.  We just need to make sure it's suitable for a boy or girl.  Bubbles, sidewalk chalk, books, puzzles, balls, coloring books, games, etc.  Prizes that are $1 - $5 are perfect.
  • Games/Activities - Right now, we only have one or two that have volunteered to provide a game.  We don't have to have a lot, and can easily just do the egg hunt, but it will be much more fun if the kids have games to play after the egg hunt.  Pinterest has some great, easy ideas.  And you can always go old-school with hop-scotch, hoola hoops, ball toss, etc.
  • Promote the event by sharing the flyer from our facebook page to your personal and/or business page.  Click HERE!
We have the needed candy and plastic eggs.
Volunteers are needed to provide games and activities for the event.  Those interested should email Becky Gay at or call 229-424-3735.
