Have you had your Joy Juice today?

The joy of Jesus is not to be analyzed....but to be internalized!

When we overthink and try to figure out all the details of e
very situation and what could be or may happen in the future, we are analyzing and intellectualizing...and sometimes even overemphasizing. David Jeremiah tells us that we can become paralyzed when we analyze, if we are not careful.

In the story of the Good Samaritan, you will remember that the Levite (who was a servant of the temple, a minister of worship and an interpreter of the law) came upon the hurt man along the road to Jericho after the priest had already passed him by. He took the trouble to go near and look at the victim ....but then he was paralyzed as he analyzed. He crossed over to the other side and made no attempt to help.

Then came the Samaritan. Keep in mind that the Jews and Samaritans hated one another. That is why this parable was so "strange" to those who listened to Jesus' story. The man who truly showed compassion and proved himself a "good neighbor" was the one who was least expected to do so.
May we be like the Good Samaritan and without analyzing, be open to showing compassion regardless of who needs our help.

2. How long have you worked for Ben Hill County?

7 years

3. What is your favorite part of your job?

One of the favorite parts of my job is working with my co-workers. They are an exceptional group of women who not only do and know their jobs, we are an actual family and we learn from each other. It makes me excited to come to work every day.

I also love serving the public through the different services Ben Hill County offer. Through serving them, I have learned more about the town I was born and raised in.

By issuing building permits and business license I use a map that locates properties and property owners and to my surprise there are several roads that I've never heard of. And it changed the way I looked at Fitzgerald/Ben Hill County.

Working for Ben Hill County has been a great learning experience with Local County Government and how it works.
