House passes funding for Idaho Launch program

The Idaho House of Representatives passed the long-awaited appropriation for the Idaho Launch Program in a 39-31 vote on Thursday. The grant program, a key part of Gov. Brad Little’s 2024 legislative agenda, is aimed at workforce development for in-demand careers, providing high school seniors with up to $8,000 for tuition and fees for education.

School modernization bill survives the Senate

Precisely as the House took up the funding bill for Idaho Launch grants, across the rotunda the Senate debated House Bill 521. Frustration at House leadership over a yearly pattern of massive tax proposals permeated the Senate floor debate.

Senate panel hears library bill testimony, waits on vote 

The Senate State Affairs Committee heard testimony from people sharing personal stories about how libraries have helped them. Librarians and library supporters testified, many who have become familiar with the committee members, and sounded exasperated.
