Special Virtual LaughCrafters Program Offered During February Break (Grades K - 5)
LaughCrafters: Connections (Youth Improv)

When: February 15th - 19th (Kindergarten - 5th grade), 10:00 - 11:00 (via Zoom)
Cost: $75 (check made payable to Academy Hill School)

What we do: We discover ways to connect and create together on our “virtual stage” using theater games and exercises that encourage collaborative play and unleash imagination with fun stories and crazy characters. Quick thinking will be sharpened and confidence will be strengthened as we find the funny together in today’s unique online environment.

Who we are: Taught by professional improvisation performers/instructors from Phantom Sheep Productions, Western MA’s longest running comedy troupe of writers, actors, and directors with over 20 years experience providing original entertainment and Arts education for schools, libraries, theaters, theme parks, and more. We have successfully adapted their improv program of shows and workshops to an online format over the past 7 months. (www.phantomsheep.com)

The deadline to sign up is Wednesday, February 10!
Annual Fund Update
Please consider showing Academy Hill some LOVE this February!

In this period of uncertainty it is more important than ever for us to reach our fundraising target. Your gifts help to ensure that we are able to meet the needs of our teachers and students during this challenging time.
Progress Towards Annual Fund Goal
Bedtime Stories with Mrs. Earls and Friends Continues
Mrs. Earls is thrilled to share Thursday evening bedtime stories, and plans to continue the tradition indefinitely. Please look for a Zoom link in your parent email. If you did not receive a link but would like to join, please send a note to Mrs. Earls. Each week, Mrs. Earls or a special guest will read a new bedtime story.
Next Selection (Thursday, February 11 at 7:00p): Ada and the Number-Crunching Machine, by Zoe Tucker, illustrated by Rachel Katstaller.

The story: Augusta Ada Byron, better known as Ada Lovelace, is an inquisitive child. Like her clever mother, she loves solving problems—big problems, little problems, and tricky, complicated problems. Ada invents crazy contraptions and reads all the books in the library of her father, the poet Lord Byron; but most of all she loves to solve mathematical problems. Together with her teacher, the mathematician Charles Babbage, Ada invents the world’s first computer program. Her achievements made her a pioneer for women in the sciences.
