The Valleyview Builders Club has organized two recent community service projects, both benefiting the Market Street Mission. First, donations of travel-sized toiletries were collected and assembled into care boxes for the homeless. Additionally, members made over 175 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches that were delivered to the Mission. Thank you to Anthony & Sons Bakery for donating the bread for the sandwiches, and to everyone who donated peanut butter, jelly, shampoo, soap, toothpaste, deodorant, etc. for these two projects.

Bienvenue Samuel!
This week, Valleyview students have had the opportunity to host a French middle school student from Cunac, France. Samuel Baux is a 13 year old eighth grader who hopes to someday speak English fluently.   His mother, who is fluent in English, experienced a similar exchange over 30 years ago when she stayed with Mrs. Zeman (Valleyview French teacher) when she was in 9th grade. Samuel has had the opportunity to attend a wide variety of classes while accompanying Valleyview students (English, History, Science, Math, STEM, Food Science, Health, etc).   He has also been an active participant in several French classes and is very impressed with our students' knowledge and ability to speak French, as well as their exposure to a wide variety of learning experiences. No doubt this will be an experience that Samuel and our Valleyview students will never forget.

Valleyview's Sustainable Sunday is right around the corner!  Please join us at the downtown Denville Farmers Market on May 5th, from 8:30 am-1:00 pm . The Green Team is excited to showcase the work being done at Valleyview, as well as Riverview and Lakeview, while raising awareness of local and global environmental issues.    We're thrilled to feature live music performances by students, T-shirt Bags Make-it Station, the Poetry Rainstorm, game stations for all ages, the popular "Under the Sea" Photo Booth, and more!

Support local farmers and vendors, and learn more about the awesome work undertaken by local 'green' organizations.  We're proud join efforts with the Denville Township Sustainability Committee, Beautification Committee, P.O.W.W.W., the Morris County MUA, and others to share the great work helping communities become more sustainable!

While the Farmers Market runs rain or shine, and we have canopies for most activities and displays, extreme weather may force us to use the Rain date on May 19th.  Please check Stiles Valleyview Webpage for more updates and info.
