Riverview School

Lakeview School

Valleyview School

It was so exciting to host the representatives from Character.Org for our National School of Character site visit! We were so proud to showcase all of the wonderful learning taking place around Riverview and the impact our focus on Social Emotional Learning has had across the content areas. They were impressed by our school! Our students continue to show great character and ROCKET behavior! Our Second Grade Empathy Assembly was a huge success! The students taught all of us what it means to put yourself in someone else's shoes, understand others in order to be understood, and what it means to think of others. (We are all still singing the empathy song!) Thank you to our Second Grade team for all of your hard work. Our Service Learning Project has been such a wonderful addition to everything happening day in and day out at Riverview. The students are eager to bring their items in and make donations to Family Promise of Morris County. Keep bringing in the needed items to help families facing homelessness. It was so nice that we were able to continue our support with the Georgie Badiel Foundation and continue to connect our project to this foundation. It was such an honor to have Eric LeGrand visit our school. What a powerful impact he had on our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students. He shared that success is all about giving your best each day, which is a message consistent with what we teach our students each and every day. Thank you to the Riverview PTA for funding this truly inspirational experience. We will continue to celebrate peaceful leadership and remember that by finding peace within ourselves, we can spread peace within your school, community, and throughout the world.

Students are continuing to make academic strides. Parents can view their child's report card on Friday.

We are excited to welcome Susan Verde for our Author's Day Celebration and learn about empathy and peace through her books. She taught students about the writing process, about mindfulness and empathy. The students even practiced mindfulness. What a wonderful visit! Thank you to the PTA and Ms. Jamison for making her visit possible. April 18 is Poem in your Pocket Day during which students are encouraged to bring in a poem to share and read with others. Students have been having a great time learning about the power of poetry this month. The fifth grade students came up with wonderful ideas and designs for our new spirit wear. Anaya Shah's design was chosen to be the inspiration for our Riverview Spirit Wear as it reflects our core Riverview values.   Spring break is coming up April 22-26th. We hope everyone has a restful and enjoyable week spent with family and friends!
