OUR MISSION: To Seek & Save the Lost

January 11, 2025

Good afternoon, everyone,

I hope and pray that you and your family are doing well and that you’re staying warm!

Just a reminder, while it is the second Sabbath (and my week at Lents), I will be away at my cousin’s wedding this weekend, and will not be in the country (I'm in Canada).

NOTE: While I’m away, if you have any urgent requests, please contact our elders, and they will get in touch with me as needed.

Don’t forget, if you’re interested in joining the Small Group Leadership Training that I’m leading, please RSVP (see the section below).

Just a quick note of encouragement from HMS Richards:

"Keep about your work. Do not flinch because the lion roars; do not stop to stone the devil's dogs; do not waste away your time chasing the devil's rabbits. Do your work. Let liars lie, let sectarians quarrel, let corporations resolve, let editors publish, let the devil do his worst; but see to it that nothing hinders you from fulfilling the work that God has given you."

Prayers and blessings!

January 8-17, 6:30-7:30pm: Welcome to Ten Days of Prayer! Prayer is the birthplace of revival. God has worked many miracles in the past as we have sought Him together in prayer and fasting. The Holy Spirit has brought about conversions, renewed passion for evangelism, revived churches and healed relationships. Join us each evening in the ABC Room downstairs as we unite with other churches around the world in prayer -- and then share your testimonies of renewal on the 18th.

VBS 2025: Those interested in supporting and leading out roles for VBS this summer, please sign the sign-up sheet in the ERC window by January 18th.

Frank Brenckle's ministry: There are times when the Holy Spirit moves on our hearts the need to express our spiritual journey and testimony to ourselves and others. If this has been your desire, I’d like to invite you to collaborate with me in telling your story on camera. Similar to a documentary/ interview style, this platform will allow your story to be told as a keepsake for yourself and others, detailing your walk with Jesus.

Contact Frank Brenckle for further information.

David Kokiong is a former introvert whose life was transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit. Struggling with shyness, he boldly asked for God's help to overcome it—and he was forever changed.

During his seminary years, David stepped out of his comfort zone by requesting small group leadership as his practicum. With guidance from the Small Groups Pastor at Pioneer Memorial Church, he successfully launched and led four diverse small groups: iYouth, which focused on Friday Vespers for the local Indonesian community; The Closer Christian Fellowship, designed to reach non-Christians at Lake Michigan College; Insights into Islam, aimed at training people to work with Muslims; and Overcoming Shyness, a group dedicated to helping people step out of their comfort zones.

David is passionate about empowering others to lead and grow effective small groups. He’ll be sharing his insights in a series of five sessions on Sabbath afternoons at 2:30 PM, from January 18 to February 15, at Stone Tower SDA Church.

Tarlene will be waiting to begin the Stone Tower Book Club until after Pastor David's Small Group Leadership Training. We'll keep you posted when she plans to begin.
