In September your church board adopted new rules for how the prayer list will be posted in the bulletin:
1. The list is for people who want their names posted in the church bulletin for prayer.
2. The list is for people who are a part of the Stone Tower family (member or regular attendee).
3. Requests need to be specific so we know when they are resolved.
4. Non-Specific requests will be removed after 3 weeks.
5. District elders will regularly follow up with those listed.
6. When the need is over, the name is removed.
7. To have your name added, contact the Church Secretary: fill out a Communication & Request Card on the back of the pew or contact the secretary directly.
8. To ask the church to pray for someone else, one of the other prayer ministries would be the appropriate venue (listed in the Church at Prayer box of the bulletin).
Did you know we have many ways to pray with each other?
My favorite is the Wednesday Night Prayer Meeting—6:30pm each Wednesday downstairs in the ABC room. It’s the most intimate prayer group because people make a sacrifice to intentionally come together in prayer for one hour.
Or come a little early on Sabbath morning and join the 9:30am Sabbath Morning Prayer Time—We meet in the left front of the sanctuary each Sabbath, bringing petitions and praises to God. It has a rolling start, so you might find one or a dozen people there when you arrive. Just gather closely into the pews while prayer continues and contribute when there’s a pause. We end prior to the 10am Sabbath School start time.
Some Sabbath School Classes ask their members for prayer requests and will commit to pray throughout the week.
ST Prayer Ministry Group—As I was growing up we had a phone tree that we used when a crisis hit one of our members. It worked like this: You would get a call explaining the need for prayer, and you would have certain people you were responsible to call to relay the message, then those people had a list of people they would call, until the entire church was informed of the prayer request. Nowadays we have the Signal messaging App where everyone can connect at the same moment -- no long prayer chain that takes hours to complete. Currently 35 members are using the app. If you would like to join us, please use the QR code below to join the ST Prayer Ministry Group (includes a link to download Signal).
The group asks that messages are limited to praise and prayer requests only.
“Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful?
Let him sing praise,” James 5:13.
Please join your church family in prayer for one another.
