Feature: Gratitude
We've all seen the commercials, memes and social media posts. Yes, 2020 has been one of the most challenging years yet for most of us. As we approach Thanksgiving, however, we are encouraged to remember the many gifts in our lives for which we can be grateful. As it has been for the past eight years, the opportunity to be a member of this exceptional community of teachers and learners is an incredible blessing for which I will always be grateful.

I hope you enjoy a peaceful and fulfilling Thanksgiving holiday and break with your family. Please stay safe. I appreciate the sacrifices we make now to be certain we all come back to campus healthy and safe early in the new year.

Melissa Earls, P'16
Head of School

NOTE: There will be no Friday Newsletter next week. The next edition will be distributed on December 4!
Flu Shot Requirement
This school year, the Department of Public Health has added an influenza vaccine requirement for all students from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12. This requirement was put in place to reduce influenza-related morbidity and to reduce the overall impact of respiratory illness in a population still facing the COVID-19 pandemic. Students will be expected to have received an influenza vaccine for the current influenza season by December 31, unless either a medical or a religious exemption is provided to the school. The exemption must be recorded in writing.
To obtain an influenza vaccine, please contact your child’s medical provider, local urgent care clinic, or local area pharmacy. Please submit documentation of your child's flu vaccination once it has been administered.

Congratulations, Dr. Brody!
Earlier this week, Mr. Brody successfully defended his dissertation, "Peculiar Capitalism: Fast-Food Franchising and Entrepreneurship in Postwar America" to earn a Ph.D. in American History from George Mason University. He is now DR. Brody! (Although he still prefers to be addressed as Mr. Brody!) Congratulations! We are enormously proud of you!
