It doesn't seem possible that another school year is coming to a close. It is always gratifying to watch our students continue to grow as individuals. We will miss the eighth graders as they head off to High School. We wish them well in all their future endeavors. "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." Franklin D. Roosevelt
Recently all three grade levels went on their annual end of the year field trips. The 6th-grade students went on a field trip to the Bronx Zoo. The 7th graders had an entertaining day at The Hard Rock Cafe and watching a performance of The Blue Man Group in NYC. Our 8th-grade students are currently spending two days sightseeing in Washington DC and a day enjoying Hershey Park.
On May 31st, Valleyview Middle School held its annual Community Service Day. The following are some of the activities that went on:
A Senior Citizen Prom was planned for months by numerous 8th-grade advisories. Senior citizens from our community joined the 8th graders in lunch, bingo, a photo booth, dancing and much more! Everyone enjoyed the festivities and it was exciting to see the students' ideas come to fruition. These students and advisors would like to thank the merchants and volunteers for their donations and time.
Several advisory groups traveled to The Community Food Bank of New Jersey in Hillside where they sorted 25,000 pounds of food while other advisories lent a hand at the Interfaith Pantry in Morris Plains.
Lakeview and Riverview students enjoyed being read to and participating in activities planned by more of our advisory groups.
The staff here at Valleyview would like to wish everyone a long relaxing summer!
