Good evening, Stone Tower Family,
I hope and pray that you're doing awesome!
We're finishing the Creator and the Counterfeit Series at Lents this weekend. Please lift the closing sessions in prayer!
Among other things, most of the regular visitors want to join small group Bible Studies. We're also planning to invite them to:
a) the Harvest Festival on Nov. 10 @ 3:00 - 5:00 PM (See the announcement from Melissa)
b) Follow the Star on Dec. 6 to 8, and 13 to 15)
The tickets for Follow the Star sold out in 40 minutes this year. HOWEVER, I was able to obtain 25 tickets reserved for Stone Tower Bible Study Interests (and their friends and families), OR for those in Stone Tower who have never gone. The times I have are:
1) Friday, Dec. 6 @ 7:20 PM - Lents
2) Sunday, Dec. 8 @ 7:00PM - Stone Tower

Fall Festival November 10, 3-6pm: Social Committee is partnering with Lent's Social Committee to host a Harvest Festival at Lent's LAC building at 8835 SE Woodstock Blvd, Portland. It will include a meal with a suggested donation, canned food drive and lots of activities and games. | |

November 16 after service, Men's chorus rehearsal: Calling all men to join the Men's Chorus! The next performance will be November 23rd. Please join us in rehearsing on Sabbath, November 16, following the service, on the platform.
Sabbath School teachers needed for children's departments, grades 2-4 and 5-7. If you are able to help, please talk to Melissa Brownell or Elder Leo.
Sidewalk Evangelism: Please pick up Bible study mailers in the foyer to hand out to people around Portland.

November 17, 9:00 am WORK BEE. Come ready to work to help keep our church & parking lot area looking nice. Weather permitting, we need to do a little roof cleanup and sealing, concrete sealing, install a small sump pump, filter changes, clean out old electronic equipment from the Deacons’ room. There are numerous areas inside the church that need to be cleaned and organized, as well. | |
November 23: Stone Tower's Music Department presents the 3rd Annual Thanksgiving Worship Service and Musical Banquet on Sabbath, November 23rd, and everyone's invited! Prayer ministry at Stone Tower
Wednesday Night Prayer Meeting: 6:30pm each Wednesday downstairs in the ABC classroom downstairs. Please ring the doorbell or knock hard at the downstairs door.
9:30 am Sabbath: Come a little early Sabbath morning and join the Sabbath Morning Prayer Time at the left front of the sanctuary. It has a rolling start, so gather closely into the pews while prayer continues and contribute when there’s a pause. We end prior to the 10am Sabbath School start time.

Veterans Day, November 11, 8:30am, PAES would like to invite our school and church family veterans for a special celebration assembly. Follow the Star is looking for helpers & actors to open an ADDITIONAL Night (Thursday evening) this year.
At this time we are trying to fill up the roster for Thursday, December 12 so that we can open that extra night (we never did a Thursday before, but since the tickets for the other six nights sold in 40 min we want to create more opportunity for people to go through FTS).
Volunteers need to go to the website and fill out the volunteer form at the bottom of the page. The Conference needs to run the background checks.
We need people for:
Childcare - watching the few kids of the volunteers for the night - 4 people
Assistant guides - 8-10 needed - they give instructions to groups at the beginning of the program and walk with the groups all the way through
Cookie shack - giving out cookies and apple cider - 4 people
Manger scene - Angel to sing "Mary did you know" (young female or male with great voices); young couples to play Mary and Joseph (no speaking part involved)
Modern scenes - we're simplifying and will use grandparent and child (because the first modern scene needs to match the last modern scene, we need two elderly females or two elderly males if they are to cover the whole night for grandparent - if we have 4 females/males they can switch when they get tired). This involves reading a script from a book to the child.

November 13, 9am to 2pm, PAA Academy Day & Academy Night: Attention 8th grade parents! Portland Adventist Academy is excited to welcome your 8th grade student to our high school campus from 9am to 2pm on Wednesday, November 13th! We have a fun day planned - just for 8th graders - when students can get a glimpse of the high school experience at PAA, see classrooms, meet teachers, and hear about the clubs, activities, and programs offered. There will be drawings for tuition, fees and prizes, as well as several opportunities to win scholarships by participating in academic challenges. Lunch is provided.
That evening, we will host Academy Night - an Open House for 8th grade parents from 6:30 until 7:30, with drawings for tuition and fees and a short meeting at 7:30. Call 971-351-8984 to register or email msperl@paasda.org. If you know other families with 8th graders who may want to join in, please pass the word along!
Portland Adventist Elementary School still needs:
1) A part-time accountant (about 10 hours a month) to do month-end closing, reconciliation, and report. CPA preferred, but not required if the level of experience would suffice. Please reach out to principal@paes.com and treasurer@paes.com to apply.
2) Substitute Teachers: We are looking for dedicated and compassionate individuals who enjoy being around children and in the school environment. If you are interested, please reach out to admin@paes.com to apply.
