Brother Dan attended the dedication of our new Marist School in Liberia today. Deep gratitude to all who helped make this dream become a reality.

Erin Gilbert has been in Rome this week attending the Institute’s international meeting for all Marist communication directors. This weekend, she will meet with the Arco Norte communications committee.

Brothers Sam Amos and Brian Poulin are in Minneapolis for the biannual Convocation of the National Religious Vocation Conference (NRVC).

Brother Brian flies to Japan on Wednesday to visit Bro. Bernard Yamaguchi of our USA Province and to connect with the Marist Brothers International School in Kobe.

Brother Don Bisson gave a presentation about celebrating the 200th anniversary of the building of l'Hermitage at Christopher Columbus High School in Miami, FL, on Monday.

Central Catholic High School celebrated the dedication of The St. Marcellin Champagnat Peace Garden this morning, followed by an All Saints Liturgy.

Last week, Brother Ken McDonald offered a Zoom presentation and discussion on the final report from the 3rd Marist International Mission Assembly held in Spain back in April.

SHARING OUR CALL

October 27 - 29, 2024

This gathering brought together staff members from seven different Marist schools and one additional Marist ministry to learn about the Brothers' sharing of their call with the lay people who have committed alongside them in pursuit of our mission. We reflected on Champagnat and schooling through a Marist lens. One participant captured the experience of the group this way: "These were incredible days that helped me refocus on the most important goal that we all share, which is making Jesus Christ known and loved.

MOUNT SAINT MICHAEL ACADEMY


Bronx, New York

Last month, USA Provincial Brother Dan O'Riordan joined the Mount Saint Michael Academy community as Brother Michael Flanigan was installed as the new President of the school.

Ninth grade religion classes participated in a 'Teaching Mass' to prepare for the first Catholic Mass of the school year.

The viral NFL 'Players Choir' members visited campus to share their experiences as professional athletes with MSMA students.

A group of Marist Youth students volunteered to serve as helpers at the Marist Brothers Center in Esopus Hall of Fame Gala last month.

The Marist Green Team met on Tuesday with a guest presentation from Dr. Erin Lothes about the Laudato Si' Animators Program. Watch the recording here.


Our next Green Team meeting will take place on Tuesday, November 26th at 6pm ET / 3pm PT.

Sam King held a Laudato Si' training session for faculty and staff at Mount Saint Michael academy this week.


The Ignatian Solidarity Network, in conjunction with the Jesuit Conference Office of Justice and Ecology, is starting a pilot program for secondary schools to begin benchmarking their energy usage through the Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager. The dedication of our first-ever Marist-owned school in Liberia took place today.


The new all-purpose building for the school in Madagascar was recently completed and the school will open its doors next September.
