Thirty Years from Now:

The Future of the Future

With Rev. Steve Wilson

In the context of playing a board game full of chance and choices, this service explores the future and beyond that the very act of looking into the future. We will both hear from some experts about what they see coming, and ask how reliable their forecasts are? Underlying this service is a premise that we might not be willing to face the consequences for society that our present choices could leave us in the future to live

MINISTER'S CORNER

Share Your Voice: Propose a Program for GA 2026

You are warmly invited to submit a program proposal for the 2026 UUA General Assembly EduCenter. We are seeking creative and meaningful offerings that align with our theme, Meet the Moment: Together Everywhere.

ABOUT GA 2026

The 2026 General Assembly will be a virtual experience with optional opportunities for community gatherings. Our Studio Site in Louisville, Kentucky, will serve as the central hub, and congregations are encouraged to host local gatherings or watch parties. Whether joining from a congregation or from home, everyone will share in the same inspiring content and spirit of connection that brings our movement together everywhere.

The dates are June 14–21, 2026, and the structure will look a little different.

  • Sunday through Tuesday (June 14–16): All-virtual General Sessions focused on the business of the Association.
  • Wednesday and Thursday (June 17–18): A flexible midweek break for rest, travel, professional organization meetings, and affinity groups gatherings.
  • Friday through Sunday (June 19–21): Whether participating at an optional in-person site or fully online, registrants will share in the same livestreamed worship, featured speakers, and “Meet the Moment” programming that will unite us across every location.

ABOUT THE GA EDUCENTER

The GA EduCenter, housed in the GA App, is the central space for learning, reflection, and connection. It features pre-recorded and on-demand content, live sessions, and opportunities for conversation and collaboration. All educational offerings will be presented through the EduCenter, allowing registrants to engage on their own schedules while connecting with others across the movement.

We invite proposals that inspire engagement, deepen faith, and foster collaboration across distance. Submit your proposal by the deadline of Thursday, January 15, 2026.

P.S. Share your ideas, teachings, or creative offerings through the EduCenter and help connect Unitarian Universalists everywhere.

Rev. Steve has office hours on Monday’s and Friday’s from 10:30am to 2:30pm. Best to call or text to see that he is not out of the office, but on Monday’s and Friday’s he is regularly at the church or about town.

 (617) 852-2292

(Rev. Steve Gone for the first half of Jan)- from December 29th through Jan 17th.

I will be traveling to Argentina. So, although I will be deep in the southern hemisphere for the heart of their summer, most of that time will be spent cold on the side of a mountain. When I am back, I will report on what it’s like to spend good money to both freeze and struggle to breath. Wish me luck.

While I am gone, Rev. Jane Thickstun will be on call to cover any emergencies. She can be reached directly by phone at 603-593-9456.
