The Chamber’s Summer Business Showcase offers up to 18 businesses/non-profits the opportunity to display their products and services, and to transact business if desired, at a high-visibility tent venue on the grounds of the 75th Annual Maine Lobster Festival. Seven spaces have sold to date; eleven remain!

Chamber President & CEO Search Update

The Chamber’s Search Committee is working hard to identify our next President and CEO. As stated in the job description, we are seeking “…a visionary self-starter who leads the organization’s programs and strategies to drive economic growth in the Penobscot Bay region. The successful candidate will be a spokesperson, advocate for tourism and other economic drivers of growth in the region, significant driver of revenue, and a high-profile leader in the community.”

The job description is posted on the Chamber’s website, the Association of Fundraising Professionals – Northern New England Chapter’s website, Live and Work in Maine, the Maine Association of Nonprofits, and the National Association of Chamber Executives. The Chamber is accepting applications through July 29, 2022; interested parties may send their cover letter and resume to ceosearch@camdenrockland.com. Chamber seeks Information Center Volunteers
The Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce is seeking to fill a number of volunteer positions for its Rockland Information Center this summer.

The Chamber seeks friendly, professional, and reliable individuals who enjoy interacting with people from all walks of life and who are enthusiastic about promoting our region, our Chamber members, and our area’s many events and activities. Individuals who are able to commit to a regular, 3 to 4 hour weekly time slot during the summer season are preferred. Year-round volunteers and single-day event volunteers are also needed. For all positions, knowledge of the local area is essential, and we are happy to offer real-time training. Through our Information Centers and our outreach programs, the Chamber aims to be the authority on local business and tourism.

The 29th Annual North Atlantic Blues Festival is this weekend!
The 29th Annual North Atlantic Blues Festival is a two-day blues music festival featuring national blues performers and is considered one of the most prestigious on the East Coast. The festival is held July 16 & 17 at the Public Landing in Rockland, Maine, overlooking picturesque Rockland Harbor. Some of the top names in blues music are featured. In addition to all day live entertainment, the festival has vendors selling a wide array of food, drinks and crafts. Tickets may be purchased at the gate. Knox County nonprofits and projects benefit from MaineCF grants
More than $53,000 in Maine Community Foundation (MaineCF) grants will help strengthen nonprofit organizations and projects in Knox County. The nine grants through MaineCF’s Community Building Grant Program include $53,307 recommended by the Knox County Committee and two additional grants totaling $7,658 from people with donor-advised funds. Medical Fund Matching Campaign raises $100,000
Earlier this year, two couples stepped forward to offer matching gifts to help animals at Pope Memorial Humane Society (PMHS). Martine Richard LaBrie & Dr. Henry LaBrie of Friendship, and Kelly and Jaymie Bonavia of Camden, together offered a $50,000 match, to hopefully inspire the community to donate another $50,000. PMHS is tickled to announce that donors stepped forward and the match has been completed! Thank you to the matching donors and all who gave-on Facebook, by mail or stopping in to the shelter.
